unable to install youtube app and recieve error code 0x80072f88

I tried what you said but the same sequence of events happened i.e. after clicking install on the you tube app it displays downloading for half a minute and then just stops with the error code 0x80072F8F. I'm signed in fine when rebooting and the network
diagnostics are great i.e. zero percent packets lost whatever that means!

Thanks anyway for trying. I'll keep trying over the next few days. Apart from the odd quirks I love the xbox one x. I don't think I've had such smooth game performance for a console. The old crackdown game plays like a dream!

Solution found at a windows report page from 2016 I think. Just type in fix "installation stopped" xbox one error.

Thanks to the person who headed me in the direction of DNS issues. I followed the instructions and went to network settings, then advanced settings and inputted 8.8.8.8 as primary dns and then 8.8.4.4 as secondary dns. I was desperate at this time and
didn't really want to do strange things I know nothing about. I should have realised that an xbox console is just as effin' temperamental as a computer…. anyways, everything is loading finally! you tube, bbc news app, amazon prime, all loaded in seconds.

All the dns settings have automatic as an option so I didn't worry about altering anything so im glad I took the plunge and did something that was out of my comfort zone!
