Unable to install Xbox app on Windows 10

My problem is simple. I need the Xbox app to play some games I won, but I'm unable to install the Xbox app on Windows 10 PC. I've tried installing from Windows store, downloading installer from Xbox site and also from an offline installer, all three just freeze after I click install.

Additionally now the Windows store is unable to detect my hardware:

I tried running wsreset.exe, but that too just starts and nothing happens (probably freezes too).

Please tell me how do i fix these issues.

Thank you for posting on the Xbox forums. We understand that you are unable to install the Xbox (Beta) App due to your computer being unable to update Windows. We recommend

manually checking for Windows 10 updates. The
Xbox (Beta) App needs to have the latest version of Windows 10 in order to be successfully installed. Be sure to let us know the results

Hi Christopher, thanks for the reply. However, your link is not opening.

I'm not sure whether you want me to restart or reset my PC.

If it's the former, I can tell you that I have restarted my PC several times but that didn't help.

If it's the later, then that's a problem. Because I have many work related programs on my system that I really really don't want to build again. So, is it possible to solve the problem any other way?

Hi there Avi welcome to the community forum! Christopher here, an Xbox fan just like you and has been on Xbox for years already. I would really love to make your day by helping you out. I had this issue around a year ago. In the part of Windows 10 click on "Reset this PC" these instructions will help you to solve the problem, you can even leave your important files!
