Unable to install XBox 360 wired controller on Windows 10

Hello. Since I upgraded to Windows 10, my XBox controller is unable to work at all and it's only 3 months old. When I plug the usb, it says 43 error. Then I tried to do EVERYTHING I found on internet to try to fix it:

1. Tested every port
2. Tried to install XBox Accesories.
3. Tried to reinstall USB drivers
4. Tried to reset driver caches

And nothing. Then I tried to force the driver installation, but in my system there's no "XBox 360 Peripherals" thingy on the device manager, only "XBox Peripherals", and it's empty!

And another thing is that when I plug my controller, the X center button lights on for about a second and then stops (and windows says 43 error). I don't think there's an error with the controller itself.

What can I do? Thank you very much.

i have a xbox 360 controller and i want to use it for my xbox one. i have read that it is possible while using the xbox app on windows 10. https://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-on-windows/accessories/xbox-controller-for-windows-setup .
the sentence in the blue says that i can use the xbox app on windows 10 to check it if the controller is working. so my question is can it work on your xbox one the xbox 360 controller while using the xbox app on windows 10?

Hi there; looking at the website where you can get the drivers from Microsoft, it does not appear that they have updated drivers for Windows 10 (www.microsoft.com/.../xbox-360-controller-for-windows).
You may have to update/upgrade to the Xbox One controller for Windows.

 

I am also having trouble running a Xbox360 controller on Win10

All drivers and OS are up to date

Controller is recognised and running properly according to the device manager.

Controller works on a Xbox360 console, wired or wireless (I am using the cable to connect to Win10)

Controller simply does not work at all, ring lights flash when plugged in and Xbox button pressed but that is all it seems to be able to do.

Have tried following all steps under installation and troubleshooting on the xbox support site, also can not log in to use xbox support chat or phone options despite the fact that I am logged in.
