Unable to install Halo 3; only option given "Download Again"

I own the Halo 3 multiplayer disc, but also claimed Halo 3 while it was free as I didn't have the campaign disc. I really would like to install my Halo 3 multiplayer disc, but it only gives me the "Download Again" option. I believe it thinks I want the ORIGINAL
Halo 3 game, not the multiplayer version (which I want).

Can't install a game

I am trying to install battlefield 3 on to my hard drive but when I hit x on the "play game" option it takes me to the next menu but it won't even give me the option to install it.

The only catch with installing Halo 3 is that it increases the load times of that game, thus Bungie does not recommend it. Same with the second disc for
Halo 3: ODST.

Yes, I understand that. Let me explain a little more precisely where I encounter my problem.

1. I start the download of Halo Master Chief Collection from the Xbox App

2. Once the download is at roughly 10-12% MCC app appears in the start menu. The download is not done yet as by default it tries to download all games included in the collection.

3. I launch the MCC app, go to options, uncheck the unwanted games, and confirm.

4. At this point the download stops entirely. When I go back to the options menu, all games are checked again. At this point I am unable to play any games that didn't download up to this point. At the top of the screen there is a progress bar for the download but it doesnt move. The download does not show up in the xbox app or in the microsoft store app. The only way to recover from this is to uninstall the master chief collection, and install it again. Only then can I download the games again. I'd like to be able to deselect the games before they are all downloaded, without breaking the download functionality, and bricking the game.

You are unable to download Minecraft is that correct? If so, you can download and install using the given link. You cant then login and access your account once installation is done.

Install Halo 4 to your hard drive if possible, as it will possibly help with disc reading. However, if it is unreadable, and you're unable to install it to your hard drive the only option is to get the game again, and as Hassassinade said, you should head
on over to
support.xbox.com/.../disc-replacement-program
