Unable to install gears 5 on windows 10 for game pass

Hi, Gears 5 has a known issue in regards to not being able to install it. Please us the link below to try and fix your problem.

• Known Issue: Some users unable to install Gears 5 from the Windows 10 Microsoft Store App.
  
• Workaround: If your PC meets the requirements for the game but you are still unable to click the install button from the Microsoft Store app on Windows 10, this means that you need to upgrade your Windows OS version to the latest version. In
  order to do that, you can follow the steps here to manually check for and install that OS upgrade.

So, let's try this, first, make sure your windows and all its services are up to date:

Open Settings, click Update and Security and then Windows Update;

Click Check for Updates;

Click the Download and Install Now option, if available;

Also, check the Microsoft Store for any updates on the Xbox apps and its services.

Then try this:

Go to windows settings > apps > search for gaming services app > click on it and select advanced options.

After that, click repair and then restore, open the app and try again.

Then do the same for the Xbox app:

Go to windows settings > apps > search for Xbox app > click on it and select advanced options.

After that, click repair and then restore, open the app and try again.

Then, try to uninstall and install the Xbox app.

If it still doesn't work you're going to uninstall the games services using a powershell command.

In the windows search bar type Powershell > Right click and select open as administrator > Type the command: "get-appxpackage Microsoft.GamingServices | remove-Appxpackage –allusers" > Wait for the process to finish and then restart the PC, then open your Xbox gamepass app, it will ask you to install the gaming services again, install it and try again.

Then, after you do it, you're going to open the game pass app, it will ask you to download and install the game services again

If neither of those procedures works, try to restore your PC's OS via the ISO image tool, using that tool you will be able to maintain your installed games and files.

Thank you for your reply. i tried all the steps except OS restoring and now all the games are downloading perfectly except gears 5 and avengers. i dont want to restore OS as i installed it just a few weeks ago. I will just wait for a patch or update. thank you again.

I had the same problem, download the latest version of windows 10 updated 10/5/2020.then reinstall xbox games pass pc ( beta)

then delete gears 5 and then try to download again using games pass beta . It should now reinstall the upgraded version of gears 5

do not reinstall or do a clean version of windows 10 . Its microsofts not doing enough to keep you informed.

It tells you on the game on the bottom right you need the updated windows 10 to run the game

You have to Install Windows 10 to install and Play Gears of War 5. Windows 7 is out of Support at the End of this year

That's not entitely true. Gears 5 can be run with Steam on Windows 7.
