Unable to install games that require admin privileges on xbox application

Yep tried it and it didn't work. And we should not be requiring an admin privilege though.

Try make this:

Restart the Xbox Game App with Admin Privileges so then try install the updated

This seems to be tied to UAC - if UAC is turned off, Store and the Xbox App seem to not be able to install games that require admin privileges.

Why they would build it that way and force us to use UAC is beyond me, to be honest - but activating it and rebooting (UAC changes don't apply until reboot) fixed it for me.

Thank you so much, I've spent three days and eight hours by myself and with Microsoft staff, just stubbornly trying to solve it, and by running them both as administrator it worked!!!! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU. How did no one know to tell me this solution beforehand? Bless your soul

Good to hear! I will revise to add the "XboxApp.exe" one. I actually don't have that one so I'm unsure if that has something maybe to do with the "Xbox Console Companion" or if it's something else entirely that runs with the others. Well like you said originally even though the error was actually telling you something completely different than "Hey, this isn't working because games that require Administrator privileges to run, won't work because the app isn't running as Admin". I figured it had to be that because every single game that didn't require admin privileges actually worked. So I was like maybe I can just somehow find out where the exe files are located and forcibly make them always run as Admin. Went on google and searched "How to find where Windows 10 application exe files are stored" and it had a few different ways with PowerShell and then Task Manager, so I decided to just do Task Manager since I was more familiar. Then I already knew how to make the exe files in the compatibility tab run as Admin always. Honestly, this is my personal opinion here but I think 99.9% of others would agree, why do we need Admin privileges to install games from an app that is made to install games.... It just doesn't make much sense to me... All Microsoft has to do is just either remove the whole "Run as Admin to install games" thing or just forcibly make the app always run with admin privileges or allow us to right-click on the App and Run as Admin ourselves.

Done all that, install button is greyed out, same with the Xbox beta app. I have admin privileges.
