    Unable to hear other players in game.


    I am on desktop. Using the in game chat in Sea of Thieves, I am unable to hear other players unless I have them friended. All other players are able to hear me. I have checked all the privacy settings I can find, but nothing seems to work. The same problem
    applies to party chat. I sort of remember somehow disabling it with some privacy setting a long time ago, but I can't find anything.

    I turned the volume down and tested, also flipped the mic to mute position and tested with me commanding and then friends. They don't even have to speak loudly. I'll be getting a different headset soon. Not really worried about turning it off for the time
    being. Just may be a overlook that may affect people using the 3.5mm port. I can't find anyone with the same problem.

    I tried to configure the sounds settings but it didn't work. I don't have any adapter, I plug my headset directly on 3.5 mm jack of my controller.

    This is a frequent problem that plagues some gamers. It could be a simple fix. With my TB headset, I realized I had to play adjust the volume buttons on the adapter. When in a party, I would have to turn down the game volume a bit and turn the chat volume
    up and then I was able to hear people. Then I would have to reverse this when going to game chat.

    Cortana hearing other players

    Sounds like Cortana is hearing voice commands through the headset which a new feature that was added with the update. Try turning down the volume a little on the headset so Cortana won't respond to what's coming out of the headset.
