Try going to System > Settings > Display & Sound > Video output -> Video fidelity & overscan -> and change the color depth to what your TV is able to put out.

IE) If your on the 8-bit setting, try it on the 10-bit setting and see if it fixes your problem.

If changing to 10 bit, I would also suggest to turn off YCC 4:2:2

This will usually fix the black screen flick.

YCC setting is in, Xbox display setting.

My xbox one took the update two days ago and ever since if anything comes through it at 1080 at with fast movement.. the screen flashes black.. the only way i was able to make it stop was to set my xbox to only allow 720.. anyone else have this issue?

What LOL AT UR SKILL said. Most Xbox 360 games are 720 native resolution then upscaled to 1080. There's only a small handful, that you'll most likely not play, that are native 1080.

any fixed pixel display (such as a tv) will convert any input signal to its native resolution , if you have a 720 tv setting your xbox to 1080 will produce a slightly worse image as your tv downsizes it. if your tv is 1080 you want your xbox set to 1080
regardless off the games resolution. Setting your xbox to 1080 will make no differance to the output resolution of the game neither will it aqffect the image quality in any way. The game will output and display at 720 if its a 720 game , the xbox does not
upscale the game to 1080 regardless of the dashboard setting. It simply makes the picture "fit" your screen , any software or hardwqare based upscaling would hit the framerate too much. Many tv's have an edge softening technique which can be turned on or
off , setting your tv to game mode quite often turns this setting on giving jagged edges a kind of blurring effect making them appear softer and smoother , this is most likely what your seeing on your friends tv , in reality the picture is better with this
effect turned off.
