Unable to Get Windows to Recognize XBox 360 Wired Controller

Hello,

I have tried uninstalling drivers and restarting the PC without any luck. I have also tried going to device manager and selecting "let me pick from a list of available drives on my computer," but no Xbox controller drivers show up (see images).

Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

I found a thread here in the community with the same topic as yours, I suggest you try the solution laid out in it, as the answer from one of my other colleagues helped the person.

Hi. Thanks Mateus.

That article says that windows will automatically install the drivers, but that's not the case. For trouble shooting it says to unplug and re-plug the controller and update windows, both of which I have done.

So I am still at the same point in my issue.

If the Xbox 360 controller is a wired controller, then the controller can be used on the PC, just plug it in the USB port, and it should recognize it and let you use it. If it is a wireless Xbox 360 controller, then you will need the Xbox 360 Wireless Receiver for Windows to connect the controller to your PC.

using that link, i was unable to find any way to purchase the adapter... i also noticed in step 5 that it mentioned that this was for a wireless music controller..... for those who have eyesight problems MY GUITARS ARE NOT WIRELESS. as stated multiple times before... my guitars are wired and windows does recognize them as 360 controllers.
