Unable to get message, party invite, or game invite notifications

Hey there... I've contacted customer service 4 times for this issue. After each session, the problem was fixed, but only temporarily. I am not getting notifications of messages received (the only way I know I got a message is from my Xbox app on my phone)
and I have no way of knowing I received a party/game invite.

I can invite people to games and parties and play online without a problem... I also get notifications for when someone joins/leaves the party or if a clip was recorded or not.

In the settings, all notifications are turned on.

The steps I've gone through:

1. Restart console

2. Hard restart console

3. Delete and re-add profile

4. Factory reset console

5. Update Microsoft Security settings and password

None of these were a permanent solution (the only one that worked temporarily was the delete/add profile). Can anyone help out with this issue? So far, the previous 4 customer service reps were unable to help... and the last one told me to ask the forums
as there was nothing she could do.

Can't receive notifications! Miss out on games!

i can't get notifications. No party invites. No game invites. No warning when I get a message. Please help!

 

Not receiving messages

I am not receiving any messages from friends. Notifications such as party invite or game invite show up, but messages will not. I even went into notifications and seen that messages were on.

 

I should also add, that I've tested with another profile on my Xbox One it has the same issue.

Sorry to see any notifications issues! We've seen a few of these floating around recently.

When you factory reset your console, did you keep your games & apps? I only ask because there's two different ways to factory reset, and I want to be sure you've either done the full one or both ways.

The reason why I ask is because another account on your console is having the same issue. If you've done both resets, it sounds like it might be a networking issue. Do you happen to have any other wireless or internet-capable devices next to your console?
If so, move them away or the console away, at least 5 feet. There could be some interference preventing your console from getting certain communications from Xbox Live. If you are wireless, go wired. Lastly, if these don't help you out, post back with your
modem and router manufacturer and model number so that we can look into possible known issues with Xbox Live and those devices.

We can start from there to help narrow this down. I look forward to working with you!

I have done both.

My modem (ARRIS SURFboard SB6141 DOCSIS 3.0), router (ASUS AC1900 Wireless Dual Band
[RT-AC68U]), and Samsung smart tv are all in the vicinity. The Xbox is wired to my router.

 

No worries at all! Thanks so much for clarifying things for me. Glad to see that you are wired with your console, that helps out. Your modem is a flat out modem (yay, less problems) and your router is decent enough (though we have confirmed that

multiple console support with Open NAT isn't possible). And since you're wired your Smart TV should not be impacting you at all.

Can you post back with your Detailed Network Statistics? I explain this in every post just in case someone reading this doesn't know, but you can get that by going to Settings > All settings > Network > Network settings > Detailed network statistics.
You can post a screenshot of it or just everything that is there. While I am looking at your speeds, I'd also like to look at your latency and get a good idea of the network overall.

Hmmm. We're all square there.

This might sound a bit out there, but it's worth trying. Can you turn off all notifications on your phone and test to see if you get message notifications on your console after that?

I also noticed that your account is accepted into the Insider program, but the Insider team let me know that you don't have a console registered under this gamertag. Is your console in the current Insider build at all? I don't want to assume it is and shove
you over there if that's not the case.

Turning it off from app didn't help. I was in the insider program a about a year ago, but opted out after a few months so I am no longer in that.

I unplugged everything (Xbox, modem, router) before leaving for work Wednesday. Came back and plugged it all back in. It worked all that and Thursday night. Got home from work today and it wasn't working.

 

Thanks for confirming for me on the app and the Insider program! That helps out a lot.

What's your NAT type look like? I thought you had mentioned it, but I don't see it here. I honestly do not think this is a factor because there are some things that fix it temporarily, but it's always worth asking.

Outside of that, I may have one more option. I want to make sure that there isn't anything else I can troubleshoot before we go that route.
