  1. Unable to get achievements w/questionable "NAT Type: Strict" status

I've had a problem with my Xbox One that prevents me from getting any achievements. When I get onto the support chat, the first step is to go into Network settings and see the "NAT Type: Strict" and blame my network carrier for blocking various UDP ports.
I contacted Comcast whose experts had trouble figuring out what a "NAT Type" is, but eventually I confirmed that a little program I wrote on my laptop is able to send UDP messages to my server at work and get responses back just fine. Plus my Xbox
360 has no trouble getting achievements.

On the third chat session we finally struck upon the "solution" which consisted of plugging the Xbox One directly into a wall socket instead of a power strip (because the Xbox One has its own surge protector and they compete !?) and then doing a "Restore
Factory Defaults". This fixed all my problems. I've got "NAT Type: Open" and I'm able to get achievements and I can play the Lego Movie Videogame game again. Everything is Awesome, to coin a phrase.

Unfortunately the questionable "plug the Xbox One directly into a wall socket" part required me to run the cord clear across the room to a free outlet which wasn't all that convenient. I turned off the Xbox One, unplugged it, plugged it back into the UPS
where it was plugged in before and then booted it back up and found that I was back to "NAT Type: Strict" and no achievements. Another factory reset (without the wall socket thing, leaving it plugged into the UPS) got me back to the working fine state.

Let me start at the beginning. In early February 2015 I was playing the Lego Movie Videogame game which was "acting up". The Y button should switch your character. Periodically the Y button would cause my character to start to sparkle as if it were switching,
but then everything would freeze up. Pressing the lighted logo button on my controller would take me to the Xbox Home screen. Immediately pressing A takes me back to the game where it switches to the other character and things are fine for awhile longer.

This behavior and other "stubbornness" seemed to get more and more frequent until I completed "chapter 13" (of 15), got the achievement, and then the Xbox One froze up completely. Black screen. I had to power cycle it to get it back alive again. At that
point the Lego Movie Videogame game would no longer run. If I tried to restore my game it would crash and kick me back to the Xbox Home screen. If I tried starting a new game it would allow me to move around a little bit and then would crash and kick me
back to the Xbox Home screen. I tried "uninstalling" the game and reinstalling it. We tried deleting my profile and reloading it. We tried clearing persistent data. All with no luck. I then switched to some other games and discovered that although they
seemed to work okay, I did not receive any achievements.

Until I did the factory reset. Then things worked okay until I did a power cycle to move the cord to a more convenient outlet. Another factory reset got things working again, but I'm noticing that the sluggish stubbornness has returned. This evening when
I hit the lighted logo button to switch from Watch TV to playing the game it took me to the Xbox Home screen, but things were frozen for a minute or so -- then all, or at least a bunch, of the buttons I had hit while trying to get something to respond all
    happened at once.

While typing this message I decided to do another experiiment. I hit the "power" button on the front of the Xbox One to let it shut down and then turned it back on. It came up quickly and we've still got "NAT Type: Open". I then turned it off again and
unplugged the power. Plugged the power back in, waited for the much longer start up. And now we're back to "NAT Type: Strict" and the Lego Movie Videogame kicks me back to the Xbox Home screen as soon as it finishes loading my saved game. I'm betting that
I can also no longer get achievements -- at least not until I go through the "Restore Factory Defaults" process again.

So, is it time to buy a new Xbox One?

    :)

    The NAT Type is open.

I tested it few days ago with internet of my phone (Shared) and the connectivity was connected but the NAT Type was strict.

Some issues in router configuration, Maybe?

Nat type unable to leave "strict" setting

Hey guys, so I realize there are probably a lot of these questions floating around.

I have a Linksys WRT160Nv2 that I recently set up at my apartment. I've spent several hours searching for solutions online, and tried quite a few, but nothing seems to work quite well. I have the newest Xbox 360 slim, with the ports forwarded at 88 (udp),
3074 (both), 53 (both) and 80 (tcp) in that order. The IP settings are set manually, with the IP address at 192.168.1.151, and not much else changed besides that on the Basic network configuration (on the xbox). Upnp is also enabled on my settings. Is there
    something I'm doing wrong?

Unable to get achievements w/questionable "NAT Type: Strict" status

I can't explain much in regards to this, but I can tell you that a strict NAT type will not, and cannot, block achievements.

  5. Yeah, the "NAT Type: Strict" part is obviously just a symptom of a larger problem.

Tonight I did another "Restore Factory Defaults" and, after I got back from the store after picking up another Xbox One, I found a message saying "System Error: Contact Xbox Customer Support" in a dozen languages followed by "E102 00000003 8007045D". Thank
you for playing, game over. So, the answer to my question was apparently "Yes, it is time to pick up a new Xbox One."

    Anybody wanna buy a brick?

    NAT issues

On your Xbox go to Settings -> and choose Network. Under current Network Status Type, you will see if your NAT is Open or if it is Strict, if it is strict, only then you need to proceed
with this guide. If it is not strict, then your issue is not nat related. After identifying the NATtype, choose Advanced Settings.

    Hi ,

Let's try to check the NAT type status on Xbox app so that we could isolate this issue. This will help us to determine what's causing you unable to join party chats. In your Xbox app. kindly go to
Settings > Network > check NAT type. Can you tell us what's the NAT type status listed? Also, have you tried connecting your computer to another network?
