    Hi,

    I am unable to setup my console on my XBox app as there is no TV code generated when I turn on my console.

    Both Console and my mobile phone is also on the same network.

    Hi Brandon,

    If you’re unable to set up your Xbox console via the Xbox app, refer to this guide:

    It seems you’ve tried most of the suggestions on that page though. I’ll try to help here. Can you confirm:

    1. Exactly which Xbox console are you experiencing this issue on - Xbox One or Series X|S? Please specify the exact model.
    2. What phone are you trying to connect to your console, and what’s the OS version on this phone? For example, if you’re on an iPhone, what’s the iOS version?
    3. Are you able to set up your console without the Xbox app? Or is there a particular reason why you prefer this way?
    If there’s any available software updates on your router, device or the Xbox app be sure to install and apply these. Ensure that you’re within range to your console (typically a few meters) and that there’s no wireless interference. Factors like low battery life (or just low power mode) can affect your ability to connect as well, so it’s always ideal to connect when you have sufficient battery.

    To find the Xbox app version, select your profile and go to Settings > About > Version notes with the status info. Keep in mind that the latest and most recent version can vary depending on your phone model and software version.

    I verified the Xbox app was updated to the latest version in the App Store, then checked to see the specific version on my devices:

    On my iPad it’s 2203.321.1751

    On my Samsung Galaxy phone it’s 2203.317.2221

    Once everything is updated, uninstalling and reinstalling the app, then restarting your phone may help.

    If you're connected to a wired network with an Ethernet cable directly to the console, then this is probably the reason. Even if it's the same network, both your phone and Xbox need to have exactly the same IP Address to properly communicate and identify each other. So a wireless connection would be the preferred option in this situation, because access to the advanced network settings to configure the IP Address is limited until the console is completely set up.

    Also, if possible, try another compatible device and/or network to connect to your console. If you don’t have a different smarthphone or tablet to try this, perhaps ask a friend or family member to try their one. You can also see if your device successfully connects to another Xbox One/Series X|S console - it may work with one that's already set up which doesn't require a TV code.

    Just as general advice, it would be the best to try something completely different when troubleshooting. For example, if you're using an Apple device, try from an Android - Samsung, Sony, LG, etc. You may then want to try a different network such as a mobile hotspot (5G would be the most ideal).

    Hi Brandon, I hope you're doing great out there despite the issue that you're experiencing. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you in regards to your concern.

    Kindly perform an extended powercycle and reset your network hardware by following the steps below:

    1. Unplug the power cable from the back of the router, modem, or gateway for 5 minutes. If you have a router and a modem, unplug the power cable from both devices.

    2. Press and hold the Xbox button on your console for 10 seconds or until it turns off then wait for 2 minutes before turning it on again.

    3. After 5 minutes, plug the modem or gateway in first, and wait for all the lights to return to their normal state.

    4. If you are using a router, plug in the router and wait for all the lights to return to their normal state.

    Kindly quit and re-launch your Xbox App as well.

    If that didn't work, when you launch your Xbox App then click the console icon, after you click on "Get started" choose the option "Add an existing console.

    Make sure that you're signed in under the same account on both Xbox App and console.

    Hi... I tried following your instructions but nothing appears on the screen after signing in after reconnecting back the router and modem.

    Have also tried relauching the app and clicking the setup new console button...

    but there is still no codes appearing

    Greatly appreciate if you can advise if I am missing something
