Unable to find microphone

My son is now on his 4th headset, this one a genuine xbox one but a he gets is the message in the title, I see hundreds of people have this problem, I have been through all the solutions I see online but none work, surely Microsoft know of this issue?

If its a wireless headset if you go to devices and accessories in your settings sometimes the headset gets assigned to a different profile than the one your using thats what causes that issue for me at times but as soon as you assign it back to your profile
it should work

Thanks for getting back to me i’ve tried a different controller, different headset, updating the controllers, unplugging the xbox and even resetting it but nothing seems to work.

It's going to be dependent on what type of headset you are using.

If it's a wireless headset then it would need to be synced with the system itself. Or if it's a wired one, then it would need to be plugged into the controller.

Could you tell me what kind of headset it is and maybe I can help you get it connected?

Really would need to know the manufacturer and model of the headset to be accurate.

What have you tried already?, are you using any other adapter accesories such as the keyboard for example?
