    OK...so if i hit the xbox logo button on my controller while in any app/game the screen slightly dims and the normal menu sound happens, but I dont actually leave the app. The only way to leave apps or games is to use their quit function. Unfortunately
    some apps dont have an exit button or its hard to find (hulu is one example). In those cases i have to turn off the xbox1 to get into another app/game. If i push buttons or use a controller it acts if im still in the app. If I hit logo button again the
    screen brightens back to normal. Is there a fix for this?

    XB1 User Console & Games Review

    @turk3y - to exit an app/game use the menu button once over the tile in the dashboard. I needed to do the same to get some content to show in Forza.

    Games and Apps not launching on Instant On

    Closing apps by highlighting them on your Home screen, pushing the menu button, and choosing Close or Exit also seems to help

    apparently unplugging it to do a hard reboot was the answer.

    you should try exiting the app by pressing the menu button on the app and selecting the exit app. Then restart the app.

    I have not witnessed this issue. Have you tried to end the app or programs as you are done using them by hitting the Home button on the controller, then using the menu button and selecting quit to exit the app?

    Press the Xbox (logo) button on your controller to go back to Home and exit the
    app or game. Make sure the app is highlighted, and press the Menu (hamburger) menu button on your controller. In the menu, you'll find a number of options, including a Quit button,
    select it and press A to exit the app.

    I don't know if I should be relieved or distressed that it's not just me.

    I suspect software/ memory management issue so I'll keep everything crossed that it will be fixed..

    I haven't had the issue at all today.. But I have been ensuring that after I use an app I exit it by pressing the home button and then the menu button to exit the app/game.
