Unable to Download xbox 360 profile on xbox one x

When playing xbox 360 games on xbox one i am unable to log in to the 360 xbox live account. Therefore i'm unable to save games etc. i tried several times to download the profile but system is telling me that i'm not connected to xbox live.

I read a lot about this issue and it seems to be common.

This is my set up and the steps i took to troubleshoot it.

i have a att router/moder connected to a tp-link archer c7 router.

On the modem i opened all the ports used by xbox 360. 88,3074,53,80 . on the modem i also set up ip passthrough to the router.

on the router i set up dmz and gave the xbox one x a static ip address.

MTU is set to 1500 on both devices

on the xbox 360 i redowloaded the profile and paid for xbox gold. i also redownloaded the profile on the xbox one x.

xbox one is on a wire connection and everything seems fine. the NAt is open.

i did an xbox hard reset also

any help at this point?

Xbox 360 games do not appear to see these users and I'm unable to select them when adding players to 360-games.

User accounts work differently on the 360 (and the 360 emulator on the Xbox One and Series X/S) to the way they do on Xbox One and Series X/S. The 360 had user profiles that needed to be downloaded first.

It's been a while so you'll need to bear with me. If remember you will need to sign in first with this other user you've created, then launch the 360 game. This will download the additional new profile to the console. I think, after this you should be able
to add this player to your game.

Xbox Support was able to fix my profile. I'm now able to successfully download and sign into my Xbox 360 profile on my Xbox One X.

Thank you for posting on the Xbox forums. We understand that you are interested in playing an Xbox 360 game on your Xbox One, but the console is telling you to connect to Xbox Live on the backwards compatible menu. This is a known issue with Microsoft.

All Microsoft Xbox accounts have an Xbox 360 profile that can be downloaded to either a real Xbox 360 console or to the Xbox 360 emulated dashboard on Xbox One and Series X|S consoles. Even if you made a new account now, it would still have a 360 profile.

When you run a backwards compatible 360 game on your Series X for the first time, you will be asked to enter your email address and password. This is so the 360 profile can be downloaded. It does this because that is how the Xbox 360 does things.

Thanks for posting on the Xbox forums. We understand that you are unable to sign in to your Xbox 360 profile through your Xbox One X. The credentials refer to the email address or password for your account. If you need to enter your credentials for
your account, you will have to remove the Xbox 360 profile and download it back. At the moment, there is

a service alert for signing to Xbox Live through the Xbox 360. This may affect your account. We recommend waiting until the service alert is lifted, and try signing in to your Xbox 360 profile again. Be sure to let us know the results
