Okay, so have had this problem and read all the"fixes" and finally got something to work. First, went through the network restore to default, cleared the system cache 3 times, then did the left bullet right bumper x button to clear the updates. Then
when she rebooted I got a different download screen and then we were in business.

May not work for everyone, but worked for me.

 

"The Best fix is when you try to start overall. lets clean and restart everything:

Go to Xbox Network Settings and select Configure Network. Select the Additional settings tab and Restore network settings to factory defaults.

Most of the time there is some error stuck in cache and until you not clean it the problem still remain. so lets clear it.

Press the Guide button on your controller, go to Settings, and select System Settings.

Select Storage or Memory.

Highlight any storage device, and then press Y on your controller.

Select Clear System Cache.

Repeat this process, 3 times in row.

Post back and let us know how that goes."

I have the same problem. I do not know what to do.

 

I tried everything and finally was able to get the update by connecting my xbox with an ethernet cable.

Hey JoshTrueBee, I really thank you!! Your reset steps suggestion worked perfectly and I could finaly update XB360, after some months of off line games, due to the error message 4174-0000-3080-0504-8007-0070. My best regards.

 

I have cleared the cache 3 times, reset network to default settings and coonected via ethernet chord, the status code is 4174-0000-3080-0300-000-0185, any suggestions appreciated!

 

Uff.. Try to set your Connection Settings to Manual and back again to automatic, Do a restart of your Router and your XBOX, let it unplugged from powersupply for 30sec.

If you have added External Memory or HD, perhaps try it without them or also delete These Caches. (Perhaps she does not know where to Store)

And also give it a try to Redownload your XBox Live Profile!

 

how is there not a real fix for this not just hit and miss guesses
