  3. Where can I download XBOX system update 2.0.15572.0?

I was prompted at about 5:22am(GMT-6 time) to update my console. I'm not able to update my console via XBL because of a strict NAT type that I've been unable to fix over the past 4 months. I tried to download the newest system update from this page http://www.xbox.com/system-update-usb.
It turns out this is update is from February 23, 2012 and this page How to Get a New Xbox 360 Update and the link for the system update has not been updated. A link to a USB compatible download would be much appreciated
as I'm currently unable to use my XBOX online. Thank you in advance.

    unable to download system update

Hi there, these are the official suggested solutions for that particular error code, however I tagged a couple of things extra to check and try at the bottom of the post, good luck. Problem

If you get the following status code and message when you try to download a console update to your Xbox 360 console, it means that the update failed:

Note The “x” characters in the status code vary.

    Solutions

Solution 1: Download the update again

    1. Restart your console.
    2. Press the Guide button on your controller.
    3. Go to settings and select System Settings.
    4. Select Network Settings.
    5. Select Wired Network or your wireless network name (if you're prompted to do so).
    6. Select Test Xbox Live Connection.
    7. Select Yes if you are prompted to update your console software.
If you still experience the problem, try the next solution.

Solution 2: Check your Xbox Live connection

If you're having problems connecting or staying connected to Xbox Live, see
Xbox Live: Connect to Xbox Live
    .

If you still experience the problem, try the next solution.

Solution 3: Make sure you have enough storage space

The latest console software update requires at least 190 megabytes (MB) of storage space (or 256 MB if you live in Japan). If you don’t have enough free space, you need to move or delete some items. See
Copy, move, or delete Xbox saved games, profiles, and avatar items
    .

If you still experience the problem, try the next solution.

Solution 4: Clear the system cache

Removing the temporary files on your console might solve the problem. Follow the instructions at

Clear your Xbox 360 system cache
, and then try downloading the update again.

If you still experience the problem, try the next solution.

Solution 5: Reinsert the storage device

    • If you’re using an Xbox 360 Memory Unit or a USB flash drive instead of a hard drive, remove and reinsert the Memory Unit or flash drive.
    • If you have a hard drive, try
removing and adding the hard drive again
      .
After you replace the storage device, try downloading the update again.

If you still experience the problem, try the next solution.

Solution 6: Use a USB flash drive or disc to apply the update

If none of the preceding solutions fixed the problem, copy the console update from your computer to a USB flash drive, CD, or DVD. Then, install the update on your console. Here’s how:

Copy to a USB flash drive

Note The USB flash drive must use the FAT32 file system.

    1. Plug the USB flash drive into a USB port on your computer.
    2. Download the update file.
    3. Click Save to save the console update .zip file to your computer.
    4. Unzip the file by double-clicking the .zip file. Copy the contents of the .zip file to the root directory of your USB flash drive.
    5. Unplug the USB flash drive from your computer.
    6. Plug the USB flash drive into a USB port on your Xbox 360 console.
    7. Restart the console.
    8. When the console restarts, the installation program starts automatically. Select
Yes when you are prompted to update the new console software.
    Burn to CD or DVD

You can also download the update to your computer, burn the update to a CD or DVD, and then install the update on your console. Here's how:

    1. On your computer,
      download the update file
      .
    2. Click Save to save the console update .zip file on your computer.
    3. Unzip the file by double-clicking the .zip file.
    4. Insert a blank writeable CD or DVD into your computer.
    5. Copy the contents of the .zip file to the root directory on your CD or DVD, and then select to write (burn) the files to the disc.
    6. Once the files have been burned to disc, remove the disc from your computer and insert it into the disc drive on your Xbox 360 console.
    7. Restart the console.
    8. When the console restarts, the installation program starts automatically. Select
Yes when you are prompted to update the new console software.
    .

If none of the above works could you go to settings/ system/ storage and check to see if your storage device is showing as unformatted. If it is then you will need to try formatting the storage device, highlight the storage device in the list and press Y,
you'll see the format option, select that and follow the on screen instructions.

    .

There is also a button sequence you can use to clear a failed update and start over. Again go to settings/ system/ storage, highlight your storage device and press the following buttons in sequence on the controller, LB RB X LB RB X, select yes on the next
screen, the console will restart and attempt to update again.

    updates

You may download the latest update from Microsoft servers at:
    www.xbox.com/system-update-cd

Once downloaded you can burn it onto a CD-R and insert that disc into your console and reboot. The system should update.

If you are unable to do this for some reason then you can try the follow steps:

    • Clear your system caches from the storage screen
    • Reboot console
    • Attempt to download the update.
