Unable to download Fifa 14 on Xbox Live?

I have a UK account and Fifa 14 but I live in Switzerland and haven't been able to download the game.

If I'm using Wifi on the Xbox, the download stays at 0% for ages until it just disappears from the list (with Xbox left in dashboard). If I try using the Ethernet cable - it downloads to 80% before quiting out and saying this item can't be downloaded. Then
it doesn't show up in my games list and I have only the "Download again" option in the store page.

I've never had problems before with games bought through Xbox live: I've bought Tomb Raider and it downloaded just fine, same for Peggle and a few others like Forza.

I think this might have something to do with an ongoing issue that EA is looking into in regards to FIFA 14 and the ability of people purchase items in FIFA 14.

This is a known issue and they are working on it.

That usually happens if the content is region locked. Some content can only be downloaded if your account region and your physical location match. Since yours don't match, you will run into issues like this with downloads.

 

If I switch to Switzerland store, would I be able to download it? I don't think it's on the Xbox live store yet which is maybe why it's locked? As I can buy the actual dvd from the store but I prefer to get only digital...

 

I'm not sure if you would have to repurchase it or anything if you were to switch, but you should be able to download it properly. It's available in the Swiss marketplace.

 

Changed locale to Switzerland and that didn't work either, seems to always stop at 80%

 

Was able to have a chat with Microsoft online (support -> contact -> live chat support), and the guy explained about Account Migration - I didn't really want to do it at first but since I already tried downloading the game with a VPN in the UK and it still
didn't work so I finally gave in to the switch and it works fine now Didn't have to re-buy anything and I see that most games are available in English anyway.
