Unable to do system update for XBOX 360

I recently tried to play a game that uses the Kinect. When I turned the console on it tells me that it needs a system update in order to use the kinect. I went on the xbox website and downloaded the updates to a CD as well as a USB device I tried to do the
update by using both methods but I'm still getting the error message stating that it needs to be updated. Im unsure why its asking me to update to use the connect when I'm not using the console along with xbox live nor by an actual network. Unclear as to why
it won't update. This is the second time I've had this issue. A few weeks ago i received the same error message, did the same process as i did today but that time it actually worked. Now again its asking me to update again for the second time but it does not
work. CAN ANYONE HELP ME WITH THIS ONE. THANKS!!

Anyone know what you need to do when you turn on the Xbox 360 and get the System Update Stopped message? I am unable to do anything after that.

Hello HaloDevil01 yes I'm using the console offline only

 

If you have a connection you could use I would recommend trying to update using live or a CD/DVD since the issue would appear to be it will not accept the update via USB.

It is asking me to do a security update I tried connecting to internet it connected but refusing to connect to xbox live I then tried to do update using usb drive It is giving error status code 3cd6-417f-1600-267f-c000-0185 if I reject then it is giving
solid red light

 

not getting any help from the microsoft. 2 times did chat. no use. this is so dumb.
