Unable to connect to Xbox Live

Last night I was watching Netflix until around Midnight without any issues. I woke up this morning to the Xbox One being powered off (seems to do that on random days, not sure if it was an update or something else). In any event, this morning it won't
connect to Xbox Live. Running all the network tests on the system pass with flying colors (network and multiplayer) it just refused to log into Xbox Live.

All my other devices (computers, phones, PS4) connect to their respective networks just fine - it is just the Xbox One - so I'm confident that it isn't my modem, network, etc.

There doesn't appear to be an option for telling it to directly connect manually - it just does it or it doesn't.

Any suggestions would be helpful short of pulling apart my functional network (nothing changed on the network between midnight and this morning, I was sleeping) to get it back online.

Anyone else unable to sign into xbox live when playing the 360 games?

When pressing both the Menu and View buttons to bring up the mini guide it just says connect to xbox live.

Ok - after posting this I managed to fix it myself.

I powered off the Xbox One

Pulled the power on it for 30 seconds.

Powered it back on.

Now it mysteriously had a system update that it wanted to apply (400 MB worth) - after applying that update it was able to get back on Live.
