Unable to connect to xbox live

Hello,

So today I boot up my xbox 360 and it is going slow to get to the home page. I also cannot connect to live on my xbox, cant play my games I have downloaded with Gold, and cannot access downloads I need to play my games.

I have checked the status with live and it says:

Affected platforms:

• Xbox 360
  

Affected services:

• Accessing all game features
  
• Joining other Xbox Live members in online games

So does this mean all games are effected?

I have completed the network test and everything is fine. I pressed Y and this is what it showed me:

X: 0000-F001

Y: 20A8-4840

Z: 0000-0000

A: 192.168.0.18/255.255.255.0

When I Try to do an update it prompts me to do when loading this game it says:

Update Failed:

cant download the update. To test your connection, open system settings and select network settings, test xbox live connection.

If problem persists, go to
www.xbox.com/support.

416B-0000-D080-0200-807B-0190

Anyone else unable to sign into xbox live when playing the 360 games?

When pressing both the Menu and View buttons to bring up the mini guide it just says connect to xbox live.

 

Unable to test my connection. Help please.

Router brand and model number: Brand: Sky Serial: A21O132AO18354

White/black adaptor?: I didnt know what this ment, but my modem and router are both white.

UPnP: Unknown

No NAT Error

ISP is Sky

In addition when I tried to connect my gold membership profile to live it comes up with Error code 80151911

 

I spoke on webchat to agent for over an hour and they couldn't fix the problem.

We tried clearing the cache then rebooting.

Rebooting the modem and router both were also unplugged off at the wall as requested.

Leaving the console fully unplugged for a few hours.

Running an internet speed test.

Tried wireless and cable, also tried more than 1 cable incase it was faulty somehow.

Also made sure I was on a private network not public.

Eventually gave up and said I need to contact my ISP customer support and they should help me, but first I need to do this:

1.Press the Guide button on your controller, go to Settings and then select System Settings.

2.Select Network Settings.

3.Select the name of your network.

4.On the Xbox controller, press the following buttons in the following order:

?Left trigger

?Right trigger

?Right trigger

?Left trigger

?Right bumper

?Left bumper

5.Select tracert.xboxlive.com.

6.Document the information that is displayed on the screen.

That is tracert.xboxlive.com

This information shows the ISP network path from your Xbox to the Xbox Live servers. This is highly technical information, but it can help your ISP troubleshoot your network issues.

Anyone done this before?

 

What did the traceroute show?

Try clear your console's system cache as well as the marketplace system data cache, as described up front.

Clear Xbox system cache

1. Press the Guide button on your controller, go to Settings, and select System Settings.
   
2. Select Storage or Memory.
3. Highlight any storage device, and then press Y on your controller.
4. Select Clear System Cache.
5. Repeat this process, 3 times in row.

Clear Marketplace System data

1. On your console, go to Settings, and then select System.
2. Select Storage, and then select your primary storage device.
3. Select System Items.
4. Select Marketplace System Data.
5. Select Delete.
6. Restart your console.

If that didn't help, let's try with a different approach (if you have the internal hard drive version).

If you have a USB flash drive, configure your USB for use with the Xbox 360.

With your console powered off, safely remove the hard drive and plug in USB drive to a USB port on front of your console. With the hard drive removed, power
on the Xbox. Install the system update when prompted to do so. Download your gamer profile from LIVE.

Let's pause there for a minute and let us know if this worked as a temporary solution and we'll work from there.

 

Okay I will try this as soon as I can thank you for your help, I didn't know there had been a system update the only thing it has prompted me or is game updates that I can't get as my account won't connect to Xbox live, though today when I turned it on it
booted up my Xbox and as soon as home loaded it said disconnected from Xbox live :/

 

So I haven't had time to do as you suggested above though I didn't know there was a system update to do as I haven't been prompted to do it. But I tried a different profile this morning and it said error code 80004004

 

I'm having the same error message: 416B-0000-D080-0200-807B-0190. I am unable to download the required update to access Xbox live. I have tried all the standard suggestions but nothing has solved the problem. Has anyone had a resolution after speaking with
Xbox?

 

I believe they have not, apart from people with xbox ones. I have a few friends who are experiencing the same problem as me who are also on xbox 360s/slims. But I also have some friends that are not having any problems, I wasnt even prompted for a system
update just when I try to play games on my live account it tells me I need to do updates to play the game, the other morning it let me play games on a different account I dont even think has live on it let alone gold. I am getting so frustrated with this,
especially as webchat was no help =/ and as of the moment I dont have time to try taidara's idea.

 

So I just turned off my xbox and took out my hard drive, and put the cover back on then rebooted, and hey presto it connects to live and updated. I turn off and put hard drive back in etc, boot back up and same problem apart from it is updated now it just
cant connect to live with my hard drive in....why is all of a sudden my hard drive supposidely giving my trouble connecting to xbox live straight after an update is released?? Did this work for anyone else?

 

Ok! So, with the hard drive removed, did your Xbox connect properly and update with USB drive inserted?

Let's move to the next step.

With your hard drive attached, delete a portion of the current system update, installed on your console and reinstall the update.

Here's how:

Turn off your console. Press and hold the sync button (the small one you use to connect your wireless controllers). While holding press the power button to turn your console on. Continue to hold the sync button until the console is completely booted up.

Go to System Settings and select storage.

On your controller, press the following button sequence:

Press the left bumper.

Press the right bumper.

Press the X button.

Press the left bumper.

Press the right bumper.

Press the X button.

Post back and let us know how that goes.
