Unable to connect to XBox Live

I'm really starting to get annoyed. Two days now I cannot access XBox Live. As soon as I try to sign in I get "Your Console can't connect to XBox Live. 80151904" XBox Support was no help at all, they keep telling me to call my ISP. I've talked with my ISP,
all my ports are open everything is fine. All my other device work on the network. When I run a connection test, it fails at the Netowkr -> internet Stage with a DNS error. I reset it to factory defaults and have it set to automatic. When I check the status
report after the fail the DNS address it has matches the DNS on my PC which is connecting to the internet fine. I tried both wired and wireless, with different ports for the wired connection. I verified the wire works by connecting it to my laptop. XBox has
always worked fine I'm hoping someone here might be able to help as I'm on the brink of canceling my service. There is a service alert out at the moment and it's kinda vague, but doesn;t appear as though it should stop me from connecting. Not to mention that
if that was the issue when I spoke to tech support they prob would have mentioned that.

Anyone else unable to sign into xbox live when playing the 360 games?

When pressing both the Menu and View buttons to bring up the mini guide it just says connect to xbox live.

I'm currently having the exact same issue and there is service warning which of course is just as vague. The warning says that there is limited service and that there may be issues opening or running some applications. I'm can't even sign each night for
3 nights in sign it works for a bit then kicks me out. Then I can't sign in for the remainder of the night and I keep getting the same error as you were getting. Anyone get an answer to this?
