Unable to Connect to Xbox Live in Backwards Compatibility

So, I have been in the preview program for a while, and when BC was first announced I was able to play fine up until the actual NXOE released last month and since then I have been unable to connect to live ONLY in BC. I get error code 80151904. I used DMZ
on my router, removed the xbox entirely from its firewall... I finally decided to remove my xbox live account from the 360 dash and went to reload it, and still cannot even connect enough to get my username back. I thought it was a temporary glitch with a
build of NXOE but now I realized it is still happening and nowhere has anyone been able to fix it unfortunately. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Can't connect to xbox live on backwards compatible games

Hello, I have recently purchased a backwards compatibility game and I go to start it and it wants me to download my profile. Fair enough, start the process to download it but I keep getting "unable to connect to xbox live. My xbox one is connected to xbox
live though. Nat type is open, what do I do to connect?

My Account won't stay connected to xbox live on backwards compatibility.

I'm having a problem with backwards compatibility. My xbox live account disconnects from xbox live when I attempt to log in on the 360 menu on backwards compatibility for Xbox one.

I've had the same issue. I would connect to the online server just fine playing Rainbow Six Vegas about two weeks ago, and when Halo Reach launches I try to get on and it says I'm not connected to Xbox live. Does it with every game now.

What's weird is that it is doing it with both of my Xbox Ones in the house, I can't connect to either of them, nor can my wife in 360 mode only. I have nothing set on my router that would cause that either. I am so confused!

I solved it, for anyone else having the same problem. I DMZ'ed my xbox on the router and then went into network settings, advanced, DNS and i clicked that and did manual, first one set to 8.8.8.8 then secondary to 8.8.4.4, hard restart console (hold power
button down for 10 seconds or whatever) and it worked when it came back on.

I may be having a similar issue. Whenever I play a backwards compatible game, it tells me i'm signed in, but not connected to xbox live. When I try to connect, it says i'm unable to. I can connect fine on my 360 however.

I'm currently having the same exact issue. I can't connect any of my backwards compatible games to Xbox Live on my Xbox One. I've restarted twice and checked my internet. Neither of these are the issues. My NAT is open and evrything else is fine. I can't
connect to Xbox Live on backwards compatible games at all!

I created a new gamertag on my xbox one and still was unable to connect to the servers. Good to know the game i have been wanting the most to be backwards compatible is simply broken

Hi there,

please double check if your Xbox One console is fully updated (and connected to Xbox Live) since this is a requirement to install a Backward compatible game.

When using a disc the backward compatible game will still be downloaded from Xbox Live, since that is the backward compatible version (it will require the play disc to be inserted in order to play the game)

Since you mentioned discs, please be sure to insert the correct one (when console is connected and is updated). that usually should trigger installation.
