"Unable to connect to world" when friend on Switch is in Xbox friend's world

So I hope this is in the right section.

Here's the issue: My friend on XBone has a world. Whenever I'm in it (I'm on W10 edition), our friend on the Switch can't join. If Switch friend is in their world, I can't join. Whenever we can't join, we always get the "Unable to connect to world" error
after about 20 seconds of attempting to load in. I've searched google, youtube, the support page, and I've skimmed the forums and I've only found one person trying to do a workaround for it but no ways to fix it.

Just checked it out and it doesn't seem to have my problem in there. After testing, it seems they can get in my realm just fine. They're on my friends' list and everything.
