Unable to connect to world - connection timed out (Minecraft)

I have noticed that lot's of people have some kind of issue with Minecraft lately. I think that the best thing is to bring your issue to Mojang support.

Verify that you all have the same minecraft update, it may be that some of your friends are subscribed to the beta version of the game.

Can I play online with other people on Windows 10? Or on different devices?

You can play with up to four other people running Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition or Pocket Edition on your local network. You can also play online with up to four of your Xbox Live friends in online multiplayer gaming.

The error message "Unable to connect to world. Connection timed out" typically indicates a problem with the connection between your device and the server you are trying to connect to. There are a few different things that could be causing this issue.

Make sure that your internet connection is stable and fast enough to handle multiplayer gaming. Try running a speed test to check your internet speed.

Restart your router and/or modem.

Check your Xbox Live connection. Go to Settings > Network > Test network connection.

Check your network settings on your console, go to Settings > Network > Network settings, and make sure that the correct network is selected.

Check your NAT type, it should be Open or Moderate. You can check it by going to Settings > Network > Network settings > Test network connection.

Try disabling any VPN or proxy that you may be using.

Try port forwarding if your network has a firewall.

Try using a wired connection instead of WiFi, sometimes this can help improve stability.

It's worth noting that Minecraft Bedrock Edition has cross-play capability between different platform (PS, Xbox, Windows, Nintendo Switch, etc) and there could be a connection incompatibility with your friends. To troubleshoot this it's important to confirm the version number and platform you and your friend are on.
