  1. Unable to connect to others using Xbox Companion App

Hello, I'm sorry if this isn't the right place to post this, but no matter where I looked on the Xbox support page, nothing even spoke of the Companion App. So here I am, trying to figure out this issue!

This problem has been going on for a few months now, and I've just had to deal with it until now. I've seen another issue concerning this type of thing here on the site, but it died out and never got to a response that I could follow. My problem is, that whenever
I use the Console Companion app, whenever I go to play a game of any type, I cannot send invites or request a party with friends on my friends list. From everybody that I've talked to, I never appear online, even though I'm capable of joining them in games
like Minecraft or Sea of Thieves. Along with this, my in-game chat functions don't work whatsoever, meaning I can't hear/talk to anybody inside of the games themselves, if they have an in-game voice-chat function. This doesn't exist as a problem on any other
medium (I.E. Discord/other chat engines or games/launchers with friends lists) and now that I've got many more friends wanting to play games on the Console Companion, I can't connect with them and play with them.

One of the things that I've seen is a problem with some folks who have had this, is that they had an issue with their NAT connections. Mine has always been connected and shown as moderate connectivity, even back when this problem began. I am not shown as
offline, I don't have that option checked, and even if I hit it multiple times, it never shows me online. Privacy settings are almost all set to open (with the exclusion of my real name to others) and still I've seen no changes.

Hoping I can get this fixed. If need be, I can give more information that I can look up, but as far as I know, this is about as much as I can give right now.

    :)

Unable to connect to others using Xbox Companion App

Sorry for the late response. Had to figure stuff out with the router and get it sorted out.

First of all, thank you for the helpful response. I followed the link, and followed the directions of opening the ports, but as it stands, nothing has changed thus far. NAT type still says Moderate, even after opening all the ports and adjusting the Teredo
connection. Still I can't be seen on the app itself, nor can I even make or add new friends on the app. Nothing has changed from what I can see, so the problem is still persisting.

The router itself isn't stopping the connection from going out; like I said before, everything else works just fine with the system. However it just appears to still be the Xbox Console Companion app that has this problem, and all the games and programs
that run through it. Yet, again, with others, I can still connect to their games and sessions by selecting them from the right-side friends list and joining their games. Any other help would be appreciated in trying to figure this out.

    Hi Rouge,

Thanks for reaching out to the forums. We understand you are having issues with the companion app. A moderate NAT type can cause issues with any multiplayer including chat and all that.

    Here is a link
that may be helpful as it has some troubleshooting to try.

    Thanks,

    Brad

So, you dont have to pay to play minecraft multiplayer on bedrock, right???

Does the issue playing online or multiplayer happen to your other games?

Let’s check your connection status on Xbox. Open the Xbox Console Companion app, select Settings, and then select the Network tab.
Look for Server connectivity if the status says Blocked. Check as well if you also see Teredo is unable to qualify next to NAT type.
