Unable to connect to Live.

Since early morning, at 12:07 AM est, Ive been unable to connect to xbox live.

Last thing I was doing, I was on GTA online. I was suddenly kicked off xbox live and from the game.

They had maintenance. So I attempted to sign back into live in order to play another game.

Nothing. No connection.

I get mixed errors. About 25% of the time it says its an internet error (which is false, as I can connect with every other device.)

The rest of the time, it says "Live Connection Error".

Ive attempted all the troubleshooting.

My xbox was already a DMZ. Ports have been checked and tried. Ive tried directly connecting to a modem, wired, wireless, resetting to factory defaults.

Nothing works.

The last error I got was 80151909, which makes no sense since I cant login to xbox live in general. I cant sign into any account on my console. Ive attempted to redownload my profile, but I cant connect to xbox live in general, so that doesnt work.

What do I do?

Appreciate if you can post up the make and model of your router and your modem as well (if this is not a single device).

Have you tried to connect your console using a different Ethernet Cable?

Ive tried a different ethernet, yes.

As for the subnet mask, I have no idea what that is. I just put down what my router had. Didnt make a difference if I used 128 or 255 in the third spot there when I tested.

And as for changing the DNS settings, a couple of the status report things changed.

Actually only one changed.. but its a change.

And at this point, because I was testing everything, I also deleted my profile in attempts to redownload, and I cant do that now. So Ive lost my profile til I can connect.

 

What about the make and model of your router and modem?

The subnet mask is a logical way to tell which portion of an IPv4 address that belongs to the network, and which portion that are dedicated for hosts on that particular network.

The subnet mask tells the router if an address belongs to the network, or if it has to be routed outside of its own network in order for the packet to reach its destination.

 

My modem is from Clear Wireless.

Looking at that, its Motorola. Model number - CPEi - 25725

If that helps.

As for my router.

Its a Netgear router. N300 WNR2000v3.

About a week ago, I had a double NAT problem and had to disable NAT on the Modem. It functions the same as before, but now I have open NAT.

No problems came from that, as far as I know.

This problem with my xbox is the first time this has happened.

And would my subnet mask be better off changed to something else? If that were possible?

 

By disable the Network Address Translation mechanism on your Motorola station, won't make it a modem. I suggest that you Contact your ISP and ask them about the possibiliy to configure this device in bridge mode instead.

Just for a test, do you think you could restore your Motorola gateway back to factory defaults, and then terminate your Xbox to this device. Make sure you have the Motorola setup as modem/router with UPnP enabled.

Also make sure your Xbox network settings are set to obtain IP and DNS information automatic.

Let me know if you can connect to Live with this setup.

 

I restored factory settings (which took a lot longer than I thought it would) and directly routed it to my xbox with no success.

Tried with the router because why not, also no success.

Checked upnp and dmz settings for both devices, still nothing.

 

Ive continued testing things to try and get my xbox connected and still no success.

It always connects to the internet, but refuses to connect to live.

It says "Your console is connected to the internet but cannot contact xbox live."

So would this mean its something on the xbox live servers side?

I know my ISP isnt blocking it since I already called and they actually tested an xbox 360 themselves to try and check, and they could connect.

 

Can you safely remove the harddrive and instead of the HDD, plug in a USB flash drive (configured for use with the xbox 360). Without the HDD attached, try download your profile from Live.

 

The service alert right now actually applies to me.

Clear Wireless (my isp, they changed their name) is Clearwire.

And thats most likely why I cant connect.

I probably wont have any success with any tests til thats worked out. If thats the problem, then itll solve all my issues anyway.

Ill post back after the service alert is solved to update on my issues if they get resolved too or not.

The service alert for Clearwire is gone, but I still cannot connect to live.

I tried to download my profile with a USB, without my harddrive, but I still cannot connect in order to do so.
