Unable to connect to internet but able to connect to wireless network

I have read through many of the previous posts regarding this issue and gone through all of the steps on internet-help...and still can't connect to the internet. I went for a few weeks without using/connecting to Xbox Live and have had this issue now that
I am trying to use it again. I bought my console from a friend (it is a Halo 3 edition - green box/controller) and I have not had this problem until recently. Please let me know if there is something that can be done. Thanks in advance!

If Wireless, are you using a white or black external adapter, or an internal (Xbox 360S) adapter?

Things you have tried: unplug router, MAC settings, connecting directly to router with Cat5 cable, clearing cache on HD. When I tried to clear the cache, it came up with a status bar window but nothing happened and it took me back to the previous screen.
I have also talked to TWC tech support and they could not see anything in my network settings that should prevent connecting to the internet.

Ah well thats odd but okay,

As far as your issue goes, here's a few questions for you to help us better understand the situation:

Is your console simply unable to see your router as a wireless network at all? Or are you able to see the wireless network from your console? --- It is able to see my wireless information withing the settings and says its "connected" but has an IP issue.
Yet all my other wireless devices will get connected to it. Including a friends xbox I had come over.

Does it let you connect to the wireless network, it just doesn't let you connect to the internet/Xbox Live? Connect to the internet, wont go past that due to IP issue.

Or are you unable to connect to the wireless network at all? I can.

Are you able to try a wired connection via ethernet from your router to your console? I am able to go wired. But for convience issues mainly wireless on other side of room to where tv is.

i'm having trouble connecting my xbox one s to the wireless network, keeps saying that my router is blocking the mac address but ive reset the router, changed the network key , cleared all the info off the router and its still not working, i have sky broadband,
does anyone have any ideas

This is a job for the networking department or possibly hardware at customer support line. Start with networking, though as that would seem to be more than likely the issue.

One note, sometimes you can get on other devices and still have a network issue.
