Unable to connect to ESO Servers

Ok first off, I have already been in contact with the ESO support staff. And they have run me through a list of troubleshooting steps that I will list below. After completing all the steps, I still am encountering the same issue and was then told by the
ESO support staff to contact xbox support to be given more advanced troubleshooting steps.

So my issue, when I first start the game and try and connect to the ESO server I am given an error message "LOGIN FAILED An unexpected internal error has occurred." This issue has persisted for two weeks now with no change. This is the only game I am having
issues with connecting to online and my nat is open. And so here are all the steps that have been taken so far.

- hard reset Xbox

- signed out profile on xbox

- rebooted router

- connected to router with wire

- uninstalled and reinstalled game

- switched between megaservers

- cleared mac address

- cleared local save data

- forwarded following ports

• UDP Port 88

• UDP Ports 12000 through 32000

• UDP Port 6250

• UDP Port 5060

• UDP Port 5062

• UDP Port 3478 through 3479

• UDP and TCP Port 3074

• UDP and TCP Port 53

• TCP Port 80

• TCP Port 433

I am unaware as to where to go from here and I hope there is something that can be done to fix the issue. Thank you.

Have never heard of this issue. Sounds like an error on your end.

Can you please try deleting your profile, power cycle the console and then redownload the profile?

If that doesn't work and you have a linked account for the game try unlinking then relinking that account.

 

That has not worked, and I own the game on disc.

Sounds like you've tried a lot of things so far. Can you try playing the game and connecting to the ESO servers using a different Xbox Live account? That'll help us determine if the issue may be with your account or console/network.

Ok, I can now confirm that it is something wrong with my account. I was successfully able to log in with a friend's account but when I immediately tried to log in with mine afterwards it failed. What should I do now?

Thanks for the info. Do you live near anyone that owns an Xbox One console? If so, can you head over there and try your account on their console?

Sadly, I do not know anyone else who owns an xbox one. Anyone that comes to mind owns a PS4, shame. XD

 

I'm back Greywolf! Bummer that you don't know anyone with an Xbox One. In fairness, that was a longshot anyways so probably wouldn't have had the same experience.

I saw you mentioned that you cleared your local storage. I'll be upfront now - this next step is probably going to be painful. You're going to want to head over to your "Manage Game" for ESO and delete your data from everywhere. This should completely wipe
your save. I know it's not the ideal solution but right now, you can't use it anyways. If your save somehow got corrupted, this should hopefully clear it and give you a clean slate to work with.

If that DOESN'T work, we'll dig and see if we can find anything else on our end. That said, the error message you're getting leaves us thinking that the issue is actually on ESO's end. I know they pushed you to us but the fact that you're getting an error
saying an interntal error occurred would seem to point their way, not ours.

But hopefully wiping your save totally does the trick and we won't have to figure that out.

Well I have done what you said and deleted from everywhere and sadly it did not work. I am back in contact with their team as well to hopefully somehow get to the bottom of this. As always, thank you for your help.

 

Welp. I was REALLY hoping that would do the trick. Darn it.

Okay. I know you've tried your friend's account but I want you to try creating a BRAND NEW Xbox Live account. If your console is set as your home console, your Xbox Live Gold is shared and you should have access to the game as well. I want to know if you
can create a brand new game/save file using a new account. Not anything existing but a brand, spanking new account.

Do keep working with ZeniMax support in the meantime but also try what I asked if you get the chance.

So I created the new account on my xbox and it I was successfully able to login with that account. Also I just received word from ZeniMax support that they have sent my ticket to a more specialized team and they are investigating the matter as well.

So here is the rundown of everything that has happened. I am now able to connect to my eso account through another gamertag. After working with Zenimax support staff and nothing fixing the issue the only solution left was to unlink the eso account from
my gamertag and link it to a new one. This solution is fine with me, honestly I am just glad for all that to be solved. But of course that is not all. I was subscribed to their ESOPlus membership prior to the incident with my account. And after a week
of not being able to play the game, I went ahead and tried to unsubscribe until the issue was fixed. However I viewed my payment history and saw that I was still charged for the next month. And that would be fine if not for me having to change to a different gamertag
to play the game. Because of that, the subscription nor any of the subscription benefits have carried over to the new gamertag. When I spoke to Zenimax about it, they said to contact Xbox support and to be refunded and create the subscription under the new
gamertag. And so instead of trying to explain this whole ordeal to someone new, I was hoping you would be able to refund me the money so I can purchase the subscription with the new account. Here is the proof of purchase. Thank you very much for all your
help.
