Unable to Connect 5Ghz Wireless

I have both a 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz Wireless-N network running at home (with different SSID names to differentiate). All my devices that support 5Ghz wireless connect to it without issue, including my cell phone, and even my XBox 360 with the external USB adapter.
I need to get off 2.4Ghz wireless because the sheer number of networks around me makes the spectrum effectively unusable especially with streaming video at HD rates (regularly under 10Mbps, often under 5Mbps).

However, whatever I try, the Xbox One refuses to connect to the 5Ghz wifi, only 2.4Ghz. The 360 connects fine at 5.0Ghz in the exact same physical location, i.e. I swap the boxes in the slot in my entertainment center. In both cases I've tried, my AP
is one room away, or one floor away--if they were in the same room I'd just use a wired cable.

When is Microsoft going to fix this? It's been going on at least 9 months now.

Can't get smartglass to connect

I figured it out for me and hopefully it will help someone else. It was 2 things. One I had the old IOS app, downloaded the new one. Two my wireless network beams a 2.4 GHZ and 5GHZ channel. My phone was on the 2.4 and the Xbox was connected to the 5GHZ channel. I connected my phone to the 5GHZ channel wifi and now all is bueno.

My XBox Can't See My Wireless Network Anymore

I don't think its the case but I'll ask anyway, does the Apple use 5Ghz wireless or just 2.4Ghz? If it does 5Ghz and it is set to 5Ghz only it won't be able to connect

When you say refuses to connect, what exactly do you mean?

Do you get error messages or does it not see the SSiD?

I've used 5Ghz for months now and it works fine.

Also what router do you use?

It sees the SSID fine and that's what I've been selecting. It says to check the pre-shared key every time I've tried. Which I know I'm entering right because I must have entered it 50 times in all the cases I've tried it (I even made sure I plugged in
a wireless USB keyboard to minimize typos).

It's a TP-Link TL-WDR4300.

Ok. I've seen this happen after playing Destiny. Where the wifi disconnects then refuses to connect again saying the passphrase is wrong.

Whenever it happens to me I have to clear the alternate mac address then select restart.

If you haven't already, try doing that then try connecting to wifi again.

Hi,

Which wireless adapter are you using? White, Black or the inbuilt Xbox360S ?

Is the router set to transmit wireless at 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz or 5Ghz only?

Have you tried removing (as a test) any wireless security/mac address filters to see if you can connect then?
