    Unable to complete initial update.


    Opened up a brand new XBone yesterday and couldn't get the update download completed. Followed all the steps on the help page and was eventually told to return the console to my point of purchase by an Xbox representative. Spent three hours today getting
    my console exchanged and am encountering exactly the same problem with a different brand new XBone. Home internet is working perfectly but LIVE seems to be encountering errors on my 360.

    The update starts ok and gets a percentage downloaded before encountering a problem. Exactly the same as yesterday.

    “THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE UPDATE” - a drop in the ocean of all the calls for help

    I have bought an xbone for my family and I am unable to complete the initial updates to get it running.

    I have completed one update, yet it advised I needed to update around 1500meg. I started the process and for the last 10 hours I am unable to complete this procedure.

    I have it connected via cable to the web, yet I have also tried wireless. It connects, and starts the update, yet it never goes past 76%. Usually it stops at/around 30%.

    All the networks are working, and my internet is up and fine.

    The error codes I received are:

    0x892300a 0x00000000 0x900b0005

    These are not recognised by the xbox trouble shooter pages.

    I would really appreciate some assistance. I am close to taking it back to the shop and getting a refund (probably on Monday if I can't get this resolved).

    Unable to complete Xbox Live Update

    I cannot complete the Xbox Live Update. When I test the connection, it can connex to everything except xbox live. I have tried unplugging the wifi, resetting the wifi to default. I don't have a hard drive I can remove. It says I need space for update.
    I have be able to instal updates before, and I haven't had this problem (or any problems). When I go to storage, the only option is unformatted (and when i try to format it, it still says unformatted.)

    You may please be patient until the current outage is over and all the services are up and running again as this may affect the initial update, too. Thxs for your understanding.

    Updating from USB or CD

    The usb only initiates the install process. Once it is complete the update is saved on the consoles hdd. Once the update is installed you should remove the usb drive and everything should be fine when you turn the console on each
    time. If you leave the usb drive in with the update on it that would initiate each time you turned on the console.

    Once the update is completed you can safely remove the update files from the usb drive so you can still use it with the console for game saves, dlc, etc.
