    Unable to claim free gold game and unable to purchase games


    Hi There,

    I recently purchased an annual gold membership with xbox live, I've tried downloading the free games but unfortunately it doesn't let me as there's a message that prompts 'your account region does not match' also, when I try to purchase there's a message
    that prompts 'there's an error with your account region'

    Upon registering about a year ago on Xbox Live I could not really recall If I was required to choose the account's region, now I've migrated it to 'UAE' region which is where I am currently based but still the messages above still appears upon doing those
    transactions.

    Account region: United Arab Emirates

    Physical region: United Arab Emirates

    Internet Service Provider (ISP): Etisalat

    Content you are trying to download: Sleeping Dogs (Game with Gold) & Bioshock 2 (Trying to purchase)

    Just a tip get codes from etailers or dashboard deals

    I find cd-keys.com is good for discount codes for membership

    However read the print to make sure it's compatible with your region

    I bought 3years worth for 36 bucks each

    Ok was looking to get a 12 month subscription, Bit confusing as it says Xbox live Gold in my subscriptions page.

    Hey there,

    You can only get the free game license/s when you get the Free Games with Gold or hit the Buy $0.00 button. Free Games with Gold changes every month, so if the game you were aiming for were part of the Free Games with Gold before and you were unable to get
    it, then the only thing to do now is either purchase the game digitally or wait for it to be free again.

    If you're on a child account, you will havw to make the purchase from a 360 console. Otherwise, make sure you have a credit card or Paypal on file to make the purchase.
    Are you serious?

    It has NOTHING to do with having a payment linked to your account.

    I am having the same issue; we are XBOX Live Gold members, and we are unable to download our free games every month because there is some error and/or service alert.

    We cannot get our free games for XBOX 360 OR for XBOX ONE because we cannot "confirm purchase" online, even logged in, and we cannot download the games through online browsers because it is deemed, "an unacceptable device".

    SMWUTCHES, how exactly do I claim any of the Games with Gold before the expiring deadline if they are unable to be downloaded on all modern day technology and consoles and systems?

    Xbox live

    Xbox Live Gold is ONLY required for playing online Multiplayer, participating in parties and getting and playing the free Games with Gold games.

    If you purchased a game digitally, you can download that without a Gold membership. You'll just be unable to play the online multiplayer part (if the game has online Multiplayer).
