Unable to chat on Minecraft windows 10 edition due to "the way my Xbox Live account is set-up"

Hey. I went onto Minecraft recently to play with my friend and when I clicked the chat button and went to say 'Hi' it came up with a message saying "You cannot chat with other players because of how your Xbox Live account is set up. This can be changed in
your privacy & online settings at Xbox.com" I tried to sort it out but I don't know how to, it's confusing. I was able to chat the day before and I didn't even touch the settings so I don't even know why it's coming up with this. Can you please help? Thanks.

Unable to play online

I have my privacy settings set up on xbox.com to allow me to play online multiplayer games and have never had a problem until I tried playing Minecraft Windows 10 Edition. When trying to join a multiplayer server it says "You cannot play online multiplayer
through Xbox Live because of the way your account is set up"

I have tried a lot of things, any new ideas would help

Question about Minecraft Windows 10 Edition on Xbox One

Hi,

I recently redeemed my free Minecraft Windows 10 Edition Code that I got because I own the pc/mac version of Minecraft, and when I activated/claimed the Windows 10 edition of Minecraft it said that the next time I turn on my Xbox One it will automatically
download to the console. Now this presents me with a few questions about this. Since I currently do not own an Xbox One I have no way to answer my questions. I have been planning to buy an Xbox One S, and my question is if I get an Xbox One S to play it on
will it show up on my Xbox One as Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition or will it show up as Minecraft: Xbox One Edition? Will I only be able to play with other people who have a specific version? and if it will show up on the Xbox one as Windows 10 Edition will
I still be able to have additional players join via split-screen?

I would also like to add that my friend is able to chat but her messages aren't coming through on my side.

i've been getting isuses with minecraft windows 10 edition. Even though the settings for the chat are enabled in xbox privacy settings i can't chat with other players.

on my computer i made a UI for minecraft i was able to use it in Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition i just need to access global resources in the settings i am unable to access it in my xbox but able to access on my computer

Thanks for reaching out to us in the forums for this issue. Sorry to hear that you're unable to connect to a buddy in Minecraft. Its possible that you're unable to connect with your other friend due to a NAT type issue on their end, since you've successfully
been able to connect with others on your end. However, you did say that there are already 4 others in there with you and with Minecraft: Windows 10 edition, you'd be limited to playing with 4 others online (or locally) unless you are subscribers of Minecraft
Realms (this allows up to 10).
