    Unable to Change Xbox Live Account Settings


    I’m trying to change some settings in my Xbox live account but it’s not working. I signed into my Microsoft account associated with it but when I go to https://account.xbox.com/Settings/Home/?xr=mebarnav# it redirects me to https://support.xbox.com/en-GB/help...e-safety/manage-app-privacy-settings-xbox-one even though I’m not part of a family. I used to be able to change my settings easily but now it’s not letting me. Does anyone know why this is and how to fix it? Thanks in advance.

    Hi AdamSteven08, I hope you're doing great out there despite the issue that you're experiencing. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you in regards to your concern.

    If you're redirected on a support page it means that the system detects that your account is a child account, if you're indeed a minor you will be needing an adult to manage your account for you. To do so, kindly ask an adult to add you as a member via https://account.microsoft.com/family.

    Once you're added as a member kindly ask them to sign in to https://account.xbox.com/settings.

    Even before if you're a child account you need an adult account to manage your privacy settings.

    The age requirement will depend on your region, some are 18, 21, etc but will definitely depend on your location.

    Hey there, thanks for the reply. I have been able to manage my account in the past so is it a new thing that Microsoft requires you to have an adult if you are a certain age? Also do you know what the age requirement is? Thanks.

    I already changed the privacy settings for me and my child but still unable to do multi-player.

    it keeps on taking us back to “change your account settings”!

    Thank you for taking the time to post this on the Xbox Forums. We understand that you are experiencing difficulties with being able to play Minecraft on your PS4 because of how your account is set-up.

    The message you are receiving, only appears if you are attempting to play online and your Xbox Live settings are not correctly configured.

    In order to play online, you will need to change your
    Xbox Live privacy and online settings    . However, if you are unable to configure your account yourself, it is likely that you may have a Child account, and if this is the case, you will have no choice but to have the parent account make these changes for
    you. You will be unable to play online if you are unable to configure these changes on your account.
