Unable to change where game is installed to

I dont know if this is a known issue or not. But it seems the xbox game pass for pc doesnt allow me to change the directory of where to save installs at. I tell it to install games to my external, and it still installs to the C drive. In particular the game in question is The Ascent. Upon clicking the install, it gives the option to choose a drive, but my external is not listed. And despite changing my save location for all new installs to my external drive, the game will not go there.

So my question here is, Is there a way to move this game to the external drive manually? I cant even find the install location of it on the C drive either. Ive been searching the drive for over an hour and still cant find its .exc file

its an external drive which i cant allocate space for. I would have to reformat the drive. Its showing its exFAT and not NTFS. Shrink volume is grayed out for me. And yes running current windows updates.
was hoping to not have to move files off the drive, dont have the space on the main harddrive for it. So looking like im just SOL.

yeah, it won't work unless ntfs, even though the actual console of theirs uses exfat haha.

but pc must be ntfs to work, i know bad news but least you know why.

you won't find it as it is under an encrypted folder, go to add remove programs and select the game and select move see if your drive shows then.

all windows app games go into an encrypted folder for which you cannot access.

can you check the formatting of the external

NTFS formatted partition
4096 byte allocation unit size

windows spits that error if the drive is anything other than ntfs

also are you running the latest windows updates too.
