Unable to change Microsoft account for Gamertag

Been trying to use the "Move your Xbox Live profile to another Microsoft account on Xbox 360" and just keep getting "Sorry, we can't change your Microsoft account"

Account A - has the gamertag I wanted swapped

Account B - slightly younger account, original target account

Account C - Recently created account for recent target account

Current Account

-Has funds, but have been told by others that it will be just disappear with the swap (only $0.82)

-hasn't been changed in the last 30 days

- Unless failures count, it has not been moved in the last 30 days

- Only has an Xbox Live sub, nothing else

-Has only one billing info

And the two target accounts fulfill all the requirements as well (though I've been told there is a possibility Account B may have a gamertag associated with it)

So... anyway to get this to work?

I was going to change my Gamertag's old Hotmail address to a new gaming themed one, but it is now all tied into one Microsoft account, so it would mean it would be updated for all my Microsoft products and not just my Gamertag. I didn't bother in the end.

I take it there's no way to just get rid of my funds? Kind of hard to buy something for $0.82

 

You can split payment. If you use a credit card it should ask if you want to use the remaining funds in your account first and then pay the balance on the card.

 

Is that the only way to get rid of my funds?

 

You can try contacting support to see if there is anything they can do, but spending it is the only way to get rid of it otherwise.

This is the last thing I'll ask before I decide what to do to resolve this. Can I add a credit card, buy something to get rid of the funds with split payment and the remove the card? (Don't feel comfortable having a card tied to my Xbox live account plus
I'm trying to change the account anyway)
