Unable to change installation drive in xbox app.

    Hello,

I recently bought a new computer. I am already a game pass subscriber and have reinstalled the xbox application. First on windows 10, after that I migrated to windows 11. Unfortunately I can't change the default installation folder. There is an option for this in the menu, but it seems impossible to save the changes. Every time I try to install a game, only the default folder on the C drive is offered.

What can I do about this?

I've already tried reinstalling the application, but that didn't change anything.

    Thank you for your help.

    :)

Hello, I tried what you said, but it is still not working. I even uninstalled xbox app and reinstalled it, nothing changed. I can select D drive for some games and not for others.

Ok. Since Xbox app allow some games to be installed on your D: drive but not others, I'd recommend you to try to reset both Microsoft store and Xbox app. Also try to reinstall the Gaming Services:

    - Go to start > Search for PowerShell > Right click > Run as administrator.

    - In Windows PowerShell, type the following commands and press Enter (one at a time):

    get-appxpackage Microsoft.GamingServices | remove-AppxPackage -allusers

    Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}

    - In the same window, type the following command and press Enter:

    start ms-windows-store://pdp/?productid=9MWPM2CQNLHN

    - Install the app on that page and select Yes when you receive the User Account Control (UAC) prompt.

    - Go to Start > Settings > Apps > Apps & features > Microsoft Store > Advanced Options > Reset.

    - Go to Start > Settings > Apps > Apps & features > Xbox App > Advanced Options > Reset.

    - Restart your computer.

Make sure that both on the Windows settings and on the Xbox app the D: drive is selected as the default drive for games installation.

I'm far from missing space. It is a 18 TB drive.

Does your D: driver has enough space for games installations? Can you send me a screenshot of the available space on it?

This was already done, and it does not help.
