Unable to change child account settings, or even find them.

After an hour of just figuring out what parental controls were, and how to edit them, I finally got to the point where you should be able to edit a child accounts settings.

I logged in as my adult account, added the child account (I know it's connected because it shows it on the "family" page. After navigating to, "Privacy & online safety" I finally found the page where I was supposed to be able to edit the child accounts settings...

However, instead of showing the gamer tags (profiles) of both the accounts, it
only shows the tag for the adult account, the one I was logged in as.

I tried simply editing the settings for the adult account, but they didn't effect the child account. I also tried the ambassador chat thing, and I got no response.

Does anyone have any clue as to what I'm doing wrong here?

Unable to see or edit children privacy settings in xbox.com

Hello all,

I'm unable to see my child's Microsoft account under xbox.com privacy settings. The child account appears to be properly associated with my family and is otherwise functional. Child is using a Windows 10 machine, websites are properly blocked, games have
been purchased, and they are able to log into xbox account using the built-in xbox application.

However when i log into xbox.com as the parent i am unable to change or view any settings for that child. The child doesn't even show up in xbox.com.

I have tried to remove and re-add the child to the family to no avail. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated!

Won't let me change my privacy settings.

In addtion the privacy settings for a child account can only be changed by the Adult Account that is linked to the child account.. So that means the child account can not change or alter the settings them self even with the parental passcode. See more

If you have an Xbox console available, click this
link and perform the suggested solutions to add the child account as part of the family account for Xbox.

If you are still unable to see the child account under your profile, we suggest that you contact
Xbox Chat Support to verify the correct parent account connected to the child account.

Check your NAT settings. It needs to be set on Open to be able to play multiplayer.

You also need to go to your privacy and online settings under your account on the website to change your multiplayer settings to allow.

Keep in mind that only adult accounts can change these settings as child account is unable to change them.

Hi, THRE4T!

I understand that you are having trouble changing your Xbox Live avatar due to being on a child account. To fix this problem, you will have to sign in with the parent account and access the Xbox settings from there. Go to account settings and then to family
settings. You'll find all of the child linked accounts and be able to change the access for each one of them, but make sure that you sign in and out of the child account afterward so that the changes may take place.

Hi Defended,

If the account is an adult account, it is unable to be set as a child account. This is why it is not working correctly. You would need to create a totally new account set as child. Reason for this is once a birthdate is put on Xbox.com, it cant be changed
at all. You can change the one on Microsoft but it doesn't change the Xbox date.
