Unable to cancel preorder

I pre-ordered Call of Duty Black ops 4 for beta access and now that the beta is about to finish, I was hoping to cancel my preorder and maybe just get it at a later date due there being much more better games I'm in interested in like Assassins Creed

I've logged into my Microsoft account - Payment and billing - Purchase history and I'm unable to cancel my preorder. It just says "completed" but if i scroll up, I'm able to cancel my preorder for Assassins creed. I's this just a temporary bug or am I missing
something?

Well its easy to cancel your preorder through xbox, and preorder it again somewhere else for a different preorder bonus.

I've been sent to request a refund, I've filed that in and now I wait.

There's only one problem ... you may not have paid anything yet.

If you preordered the game using a credit card or Paypal account, you won't have been charged yet because the game doesn't launch for another month. Pre-ordered games are charged about 10 days prior to launch, in case the game's ship date is moved (or worse,
it is cancelled). However, if you did pre-order using exclusively Microsoft account funds and Xbox gift cards, you would have been charged for the game right then.

Either way, as Smwutches said correctly, Xbox Live Support will be able to cancel the order for you upon request, and if any money has been paid, it'll be refunded.

 

I used xbox gift card/credit.

It'll be a few days before I get a reply.

You would have to get in touch with a
Xbox support agent. Click the link to contact support. Developers take payment 10 days before the game releases so make sure you contact us as soon as possible.
