    Unable to buy Xbox 360 games (digitally)


    Dear MS staff and Xbox users,

    I usually don't have any problems with buying games in the xbox store (xbox one ones), but for some reason I can't purchase Xbox 360 games (neither on my xbox one nor on xbox.com, except GWG ones) for months.

    I tried it once again a couple of minutes ago (Castlevania SOTN is on sale right now), but I only got an error message (we are sorry, but something went wrong, try later).

    I even thought of xbox live migration and if it was possible, that I migrated to an other region back in the 360 days, so I visited the migration link and once again, an error message :/

    Any ideas? I don't know if it is of any help, but I use PayPal.

    So if I digitally buy an XBOX 360 game that also digitally has an XBOX One version as well, could I use the XBOX 360 version on XBOX One?

    If you are on a child account you will be unable to purchase anything digitally from the 360 marketplace unless you are on an Xbox 360 console.

    Hello. Thank you for posting this on the xbox forums. Unfortunately you are unable to buy backwards compatible games with gift cards from xbox one. However you can buy them from your 360. If you buy the digital version from your 360. You will then find it
    on your xbox one in the ready to install section. Hope this helps.

    No. Xbox 360 and Xbox One games are still separate.

    However, certain games (Call of Duty: Ghosts, Battlefield 4) are running promotions where if you buy the digital version on the 360, you can buy the digital version on the One for the reduced price of $10/£10

    I have found this but Amazon does not write that in their description, they write the opposite

    But what I found on another website was this

    Q. When I upgrade from digital download for Xbox 360 to digital download for Xbox One, will my digital Xbox 360 game license be deactivated?

    A. No, Xbox 360 game license will not be deactivated. Both game licenses will be retained.

    This essentially means that should you buy the license, you will be buying the game for both consoles simultaneously. Sweet idea?
