Unable to buy Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition

There is no option for my friend to buy Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition from the Microsoft Store app. I then bought him a gift copy of it from this Microsoft Store domain:

However, he did not receive an email with the code. I then found the gift code under my Order History and sent him the code. However, he was unable to redeem the gift code.

So it seems that not only are we unable to play with each other, but we've also sunk $70 into some Microsoft aether.

Minecraft Windows 10 Edition: Code already used

I already own a Minecraft Java edition.

So I tried to buy a Windows 10 edition with the code provided by Mojang Account, but it was already used on June 8, 2018.

However, there are no Minecraft Windows 10 editions in my Microsoft accounts, and I have never used Windows 10 edition code before.

How do I use this code in my account?

Dear Xbox Support,

when Microsoft released the new Minecraft windows 10 edition beta, Microsoft allowed free redeem codes for players who have the Java edition of Minecraft for a free windows 10 edition Minecraft. I received the redeem code and activated the code. When I opened
the windows 10 store and tried to buy Minecraft windows 10 edition it kept crashing on me so I decided to restart my computer, after I did that the store was working again but for some reason my code did not work so I couldn't get Minecraft windows 10 edition.
It said I already redeemed the code, yes I did but it showed it was unavailable in my account so i couldn't get Minecraft windows 10 edition beta.

I could just buy the game and that will solve my problem, but to me I think it is unfair. I owned Minecraft Java edition when 1.7.10 was out and like I said before I got the code it just wont work. the windows store said "free for players who own Minecraft
java edition." That is why I wont buy it since I should have gotten it for free.

Is your friend in the same region as you? If the game is not offered in your friend's region, he will not be able to purchase it. And if he is not in the same region as you, he will not be able to redeem the code that you gift him. The terms and conditions

Also note item #4 in the terms and conditions. You can request a refund, but there are restrictions.

 

Also, I don't think this would be exactly why the code didn't work, but the one you gifted is the Xbox One version, not the Windows version.

 

I am in the same region, in fact, I am in the same state in the US. And if possible, I am not looking for a refund per se, but I would rather be able for him use the product that I purchased, or for him to be able to purchase and download the game himself.

He is only able to install the Trial version, and there is no option on the store page in the Store app to buy the game. And he is unable to Unlock/Buy the Full Version within the trial itself.

 

Please note at the bottom of the page I provided that under the heading "Additional Information" and under the sub-heading "Installation" that it reads:

"Install on a Windows 10 PC plus have access when you’re connected to your Microsoft account"

So, I'm sorry, but I believe that you are incorrect with that assessment.

 

Further up the page is a spot that says "Available On". That shows you what platform games are made for. The page you link shows the Xbox One.

Nice, thank you for pointing that out. However, this poses some more problems.

Aside from there being the apparent typo/mistake that I just exemplified, it seems that the page you provided have an option to purchase, and once the redemption code is entered, does not have an option for download.
