Unable to 'allow' a promotional purchase

I had a problem 'allowing' my sons purchase over the weekend (press the button but to no effect) and now the promotional price has gone/ price has gone up... Is it possible to get help with this!

i didnt have gold. it would not let me buy it via my xbox. i came to xbox.com to buy it but it but it was not here. as such i was forced basically to buy a 1 month for 10 instead of being allowed to buy the 3 mo for 12

Was your current Gold membership purchased at a discount? You can't take advantage of a new offer while the old discounted membership is still running. So, you could wait until you turn Free (Silver)-- remember to call and turn off auto-renewal-- and
then see what the current discount offers are.

If the console is giving you a specific error code on the failure, be sure to put that here because people can sometimes give you better info with an exact error code.

 

I believe the offer has now ended already. But please note that there would be another sales during Christmas and New Year.

 

Indeed the offer has ended - but we tried to place the order while the offer was in place... why did the system not allow me to 'allow' this purchase over the weekend when it was requested... is what I am trying to find out.

Are you talking about the promotions for Xbox Live Gold or Xbox Gamepass? Those promotions can sometimes be for first time subscribers so if the account has had the services in the past it may not be eligible for the promotional price. But if the promotion
has ended you will no longer be able to acquire the deal until another promotion comes up.

 

Yep, I appreciate the offer has now ended, however the 'purchase' transaction was made in the window of opportunity (as far as I am concerned)... it's just that the system did not allow me to 'allow' the purchase (made by my son)... and now the price has
gone up I no longer want to try pressing the allow button (which I had tried to do on multiple occasions)... it had worked for Forza Horizon 4 that same day - but again required several attempts before the system accepted it....

Sorry to hear about the issue with a purchase. There is no one cause as to why it wouldn't allow the purchase, there could be many factors involved. When you check your

order history do you see the transaction as attempted? You can also try and request a call back and see what a support agent can see and help out with.

When you go to
Contact Us to get it to request a callback follow these steps:

• Step 1 ----select Xbox One
• Step 2 ----select no thanks, then select category system update
• Step 3-----gives some troubleshooting or help tips (don't select anything here)
  
• Step 4 ----select request a call from support

Once they call explain the issue and they will be able to help you.
