    Bear with me here this may take a while. About a year ago my account was hacked and someone bought a whole load of Fifa downloads. Microsoft sorted it out, got my money back and everything was peachy. However I recently tried to download some new content
    for a game and none of my payment options were working. So I deleted them and tried to add some new ones. I tried to add a Visa debit card and a Visa credit card, both were met with the message "This payment option will not work" So I tried to add Paypal but
    this never showed up in my payment methods.

    Anyway I contacted the online help service and they saw that Paypal was showing as Pending but not going through and even they couldn't add the cards to my account. They suggested that perhaps Microsoft had put a block on my account because of the hacking
    and elevated the problem to Microsoft security.

    Yesterday they rang me and said there is nothing wrong with my account on their end and basically there is nothing they can do. So I'm left with no way to get add on content for my account. To say it's annoying is an understatement.

    So if anyone has any ideas as to why I can't add any payment options or any solutions I'd be more than grateful. I'll even give a limb, your choice.

    Follow up: It seems that this is an issue with an out-of-date browser. Resolved on my end.

    I've attempted to buy "Microsoft Points" several times since I got my Xbox 360 just a day ago only to find that I could not add a credit card via the "add credit card" option on the website. Attempting to do so brings me to another screen where all I get
    is a red box in the window reading "An error occurred. Please try again later." Apart from being vague and unhelpful, I'm left with no option to purchase anything through the system.

    Is there something on Paypal that is not going through? If so then perhaps see if Billing can change it to something else. This happened to me once where a payment was not going through on one method so Billing had to switch it to another payment method
    for me.

    Either way, it does sound as though your account may still be locked from making purchases and only phone support can help. You would need to call back and ask to speak with Billing this time.

    3. If not, please select the country/region it is showing and select the correct one among the list.
    4. Make sure to use to check the available contact times of the support.
    5. Select the "Contact Us" button
    6. Select the drop-down menu options that will match your concern.
    7. The next window will provide you with support articles based on your request and we recommend reviewing the relevant articles before selecting the "See contact options" button.

    Hope you are well. I'll be glad to help you, just remember that you're not talking to a Microsoft employee.

    Try adding your payment method through this website

    https://account.microsoft.com/billing/payments

    - Try using different browsers and devices.

    - Try adding the payment method by adding the information completely in uppercase or completely in lowercase.

    - Make sure the information matches the information you provided to your bank.

    If in your country it is available to pay with Paypal in the Microsoft store, the fastest and most effective solution is to associate your card to Paypal and then associate Paypal to Microsoft.

    In case this doesn't work and as you have had the problem for months, you should seek help from a Microsoft agent through the contact page that you can find in any browser.

    Remember that this is a public forum and that those of us who participate in it are common players, I'm not part of Microsoft support nor can I enter the system, the only thing I can do is provide you with information that might help you. I hope you will understand

    Unable to add PayPal as a payment option

    To successfully use a Paypal account as an Xbox Live payment method, you must have a billing agreement ID from Paypal, which will set permissions to allow reoccurring payments... the issue, usually, is that Paypal may be ready to accept the charge, but won't
    authorize it for automatic renewal... this kind of block can occur if you have previously used it, removed it (thus ending the agreement), and then attempt to start it again... I would suggest contacting Paypal to check if they have a block in place and ask
    them to remove it!
