Unable to add new method of payment.

I am attempting to renew a Gold membership on our Xbox One. Currently we have no method of payment on our accounts. It is my understanding that I am the primary account holder on our Xbox, so we would like to add the method of payment and Gold membership
    to my account.

When I go to add a new method of payment, I am prompted to enter the card number first. After I finish entering the credit card number, a message appears in yellow text below the entered card number. The message states, "incorrectly formatted cardholder
name." I am unable to proceed any further.

First, I do not understand what that means. Second, the Xbox is shared between my husband and myself. However, the credit card is in my husband's name. Is this a problem? I do not see how since I also tried to add the method of payment under his account
and experienced the exact same issue. And, third, we have had consistent problems with renewing our Gold accounts (in reference to our credit card) since purchasing the Xbox One. It is extremely aggravating. I have been without a Gold membership for two or
three weeks , and - now that I am able to purchase the renewal - I am still denied my online gaming time. Please fix this immediately!!!

    :)

  2. Unable to add a new payment method!!

Given the fact that you were suddenly unable to purchase content and the fact that multiple different payment methods aren't working, I'm guessing you might have some kind of account issue. You would have to contact phone support in your region (support.xbox.com/.../contact-us.aspx)
and see if that is the case.

Unable to add a new payment method!!

First....I checked everything out and all my billing info matches and there are enough funds on the card I'm trying to use. I made one purchase a week or two ago and when I tried to make another purchase it would not go through. I removed the payment method
and tried to re enter it and it keeps telling me that its an invalid credit card number no matter what card I try to use. I tried using Paypall and I get this message...

We cannot complete your request now, please try again later.

I am on a trial account if it matters. I was going to buy a gold membership but if this is happening already I might have second thoughts. I am new to the Xbox360 and I'm loving it but I want to be able to purchase add ons and games. Please help!!!

    Heya BriddyB.

The card name shouldn't be an issue so long as it's associated with the correct billing address. Have you possibly tried adding your payment method over on
account.microsoft.com instead of through your Xbox One console? If not, give that a try and let us know how it goes.

Are you still having issues with this? Did you contact your bank to see if they put any holds on it for fraud protection or anything?

Unable to add new payment method

    Hi Thiago!

Did you try to add it directly from your Xbox console?

Try to add it instead via https://account.microsoft.com > Payment & billing > Payment options. Be sure as well to check and update your shipping and billing information under your Address book.

There's a possibility that the issue is with your payment method as well. Please check and confirm your card details from your bank.
