Unable to add friends through iPad app or console

    I can add friends at Xbox.com, but the console and smart glass app fails. See the following link for a screen shot.

    Hey there simsfreeplay246!

    Are you trying to add friends through the Smartglass app or through the Games app on Windows Phone? If you can try the following steps and let us know the results! Unable to add friends through iPad app or console :)

    • Xbox.com Friends (Search for a friend and then click 'Add friend' on their profile)
    • Xbox One console
    • Xbox 360 Smartglass app
    • Xbox One Smartglass app

    XBOX app: daughter cannot add friends, error message, does not appear online even though signed in

    daughter created account and signed in to xbox via xbox app on ipad. I have created account through xbox app on separate ipad.

    she found me and tried to add as friend "access to feature blocked"

    have gone to xbox.com online and have added daughter account to my own as family, she has confirmed. I have gone into her privacy settings, and allow friends for all settings.

    no change when she tries to add me as friend "access to feature blocked... you are unable to access this feature because of how your account is set up. You can change this by modifying your privacy settings on xbox.com."

    There are no more settings to change.

    have seen a post to try adding friends online via xbox.com when xbox app does not work, however she tried to add me as friend via xbox.com, and nothing seems to happen.

    even though she is online, her status when I look her up via xbox app is "offline". she is definitely online.. she has signed out and back in successfully but status shows offline to me who is following her.

    have tried messaging back and forth, no success. she shows offline, even though active, and she is not able to add me to her friends.

    what gives?

    any help appreciated.

    Are you able to add this particular friend on xbox.com as well? What is the error message you see on the console? What about the Xbox App on Windows 10? Do you have the ability to try using that?

    Are you able to add this particular friend on xbox.com as well? What is the error message you see on the console? What about the Xbox App on Windows 10? Do you have the ability to try using that?

    Minecraft PE can't add friend to my child's Minecraft account.

    How were you able to add your children as friends on their respective accounts? I am also having the same issue with them requesting friends on their ipad app—but none of the settings options allow me to fix it or address it for them.

    Have you tried adding the user as a friend using Xbox.com or a smartphone app as well as the console? Are they able to add you as a friend? Make sure that everyone has their privacy settings set to allow friends as well. If you are still unable to add the
    user as a friend, there is a possibility they may have blocked you.
