Unable to add a Passwordless account on XBox Series X

I have created a Microsoft account for my son (9 years old)

I enabled passwordless on the account.

I tried to add the account to my XBox Series X home console but after entering the email address the password prompt appears which completely threw me since I have removed the password.

Is this a known issue please?

When sign-in, select "Use another device" and open the microsoft.com link on a browser.

Enter the code provided on the console and sign in with your passwordless method.

DLC and add-ons are linked to your account so as long as you can play the games on the new Xbox one series x then it shouldn't be a problem. Xbox had said that the Series X will be backward compatible so it is great!

It is a Game Pass which my son wants to add to his account. It came with the Xbox Series X he had for Christmas.

If you add the code to Account A, that account and all other accounts can play the game on the Series X since that is Account A's Home console. On the Series S, the game can only be played as long as Account A is signed in.
