Unable to activate Forza Horizon 2 digital code

Before you respond: Yes, I know you can't buy the game anymore. This is an old unused code I found stashed away in my attic. So yeah, basically I have a FH2 code that I'd like to redeem on the PC or XBox, however, when I go to redeem it, it just informs me that what I'm about to redeem is a 60$ Microsoft gift card. This is confusing because obviously, it is not. It's a FH2 digital code. I even found the FH2 page still up on the Xbox app with an option to enter a code on the site.

So if anyone knows how I can actually redeem my copy of FH2, that would be fantastic.

So basically what you're saying is that my FH2 code is actually just a gift card code even though the box says fh2 on it and I can't download the game onto my PC?

Xbox gift cards of the era simply had a picture of a game on the front, and represented the dollar figure required to get that game. They did not contain game specific codes, and you cannot exchange it for Forza horizon two. You can purchase a physical disk copy from a used game source and play that

You can use the money to purchase Forza Horizon 4 or 5.

Horizon 2 was never available for the PC anyway, but the code can only be redeemed for the gift card funds.

It was a console bundle, including forza horizon 4 and forza motorsport 7 (digital download codes). I can see the motorsport in the order history, but horizon isn't there.
