    Hi, I'm experiencing this issue: I've my Xbox One X connected via HDMI to my Denon X1400H receiver and my Turtle Beach Elite 800x headset connected via USB to the console and via optical cable to the TV (in order to get all the sound coming from the TV to
    my headphones). But when I try to select the bitstream format "Dolby Atmos for Home Theater" in the settings menu an error message is returned, it say that this format is only available whit HDMI connections and that I should try to disconnect the headphones
    from the optical out in order to use it. But the optical out is turned off and no optical cables are connected to the console! Actually, when I disconnect the USB cable that connects the console to the headphones base I'm able to select that bitstream format.
    After that, if I reconnect the USB cable all works fine, until the next reboot of the console.

    So, why I can't use my Turtle Beach if I want to use that bitstream format??

    PS: HDMI audio is obviously set on "bitstream out".

    Unfortunately, that did not work. After several power resets, hard reboots and nearly a complete factory restore, I found this to work. For some a power reset is sufficient. It may also have something to do with the Dolby Atmos Headphone setting as
    it originally would not allow any default headphone format. I have the Turtle Beach 800X Elite which sounds great with the Dolby Atmos but with no HDMI audio selection, no theater sound - just plain compressed stereo.

    Heya!

    If you try plugging the Optical into the console and not the TV and then go HDMI to the TV from the console do you see a change?

    Also, do you have a subscription for
    Dolby Atmos headsets    ?

    You might also try the troubleshooting steps that Dolby provides to ensure everything is set up properly.

    Post back and let us know how those tests go and what you discover!

    Atmos only outputs Multichannel

    So after following up with the Dolby Access support team, apparently games aren't supported on home theater, only on headphones:

    "Unfortunately, Games encoded with Dolby Atmos audio are not compatible with Dolby Atmos for Home Theater, as they are specifically configured for Dolby Atmos for Headphones. If the content you are experiencing is not compatible with the app you are
    using, then audio will cease, or will simply output as regular stereo output.

    To clarify, Dolby Atmos for Home Theater is included at no charge with any Dolby Atmos supported hardware, such as a receiver or Xbox One X, and is used to activate Dolby Atmos features via HDMI connection for a Dolby Atmos certified AVR, soundbar,
    or TV."

    "Unfortunately, the version of Dolby Atmos included with your Xbox is Dolby Atmos for Home Theater, which is not compliant with any gaming content."

    It kind of strikes me as hard to believe, or that this won't be addressed, but that's what they're saying for now. That said, it still isn't working for me for Netflix content either, so I'm going continue troubleshooting with them and see what's doable
    and what's not. Fingers crossed.

    Tried all of them. Nothing helped.
