I'm trying to play Sea of Thieves, but I can't hear players outside of my crew, so I looked online and it said to look at my Xbox Privacy Settings

When I tried to change them, it would redirect me to a screen saying that I can't because I was in a Family Group.

I then resolved that by having myself removed from the Family Group, but it still redirects me to the same page about Family Group stuff.

    :)

Unable to access Xbox Privacy Settings despite being removed from a Family Group and being over 18 years old

Hi there! My name is Darhyl and I’d be more than happy to help you with your query.

I'm sorry you are experiencing this with your Xbox privacy settings.

Based on the description/error message you provided and since you're unable to access your Xbox privacy settings, this can only mean that your Xbox account is a child account. A child account can't manage its own privacy settings. You will need assistance from an adult account to manage the settings for you.

Since you were able to remove your account from Microsoft family, to fix this kindly create a new Microsoft adult account with a new email address on account.microsoft.com

Note: Ensure that the adult account's birthdate registered is 22 years old or older.

Once you're done using your newly created adult account, add the child account (your main account) to your Microsoft family as a "family member" by signing your adult account on account.microsoft.com > Family tab.

Note: It is important that the adult account is the "Organizer" and the child account (your main account) is the "Family member" to make this work.

Once the child/main account is added to your Microsoft family, you can proceed to use the adult account to manage your child account's privacy settings according to the official Xbox website: https://support.xbox.com/en-US/help...ttings by selecting View details & customize.

"Sign in to your adult Microsoft account at Xbox.com.

Select your adult account's gamertag, and then select the More actions button (…).

Select Xbox settings, and then select Privacy & Online Safety. Because you’re accessing sensitive info, you might have to enter your password or PIN.

Select the gamertag for your child/main account that you want to manage.

Select the Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Windows 10 devices Online Safety tab or the Privacy tab.

Review the current settings and update all of the options as "Allow" and "Everyone", and then select Submit to save the changes.

Note: You must select Submit at the bottom of the page before leaving or switching to another tab. If you don't submit the changes before you move to the other tab, your changes won't be saved."

Wait up to 24 hours to make sure the changes will be applied.

Then have your child/main account sign out and re-sign into Sea of Thieves to see if it works.

Thank you for your kindness and understanding! Please feel free to let me know if you need anything else.

    Best Regards,
    Darhyl

"We were unable to load your settings at this time. Please try again later." Error code

No, it is not. I thought I mentioned in the post that I even tried adding it to a family group, tested the settings, and then switched it so that it was the manager of the family group. Neither of those things worked. It is now not part of a family group. In addition, each of the times I attempted to access the settings from the account that was only listed as a member, not as the owner of the family group, I was unable to even get to the page that displays the settings. This leads me to believe that being part of a family group has no bearing on the issue at hand.

victim of rce, and now it's affecting my ability to play minecraft, how do I fix this problem?

    Hi jCIB lOBER,

    Greetings!

Thank you for publishing in Microsoft Community.

We understand that you are having trouble changing your Xbox privacy settings even though you are not part of a family group. I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.

I had answer the same case and this is what we did on the case it was resolved.

To resolve this issue, I recommend that you try the following steps:

    1. Sign in to your Xbox account on your console or on the Xbox website.

    2. Go to the "Settings" menu and select "Privacy & online safety."

    3. Select "Xbox Live privacy" and then select "View details & customize."

    4. You will see a list of privacy settings that you can customize. Make sure that all the settings are set to "Allow" or "Everyone" if you want to access Forge content.

    5. If you are still unable to change your privacy settings, try removing yourself from any family groups that you may have been added to. To do this, go to the "Family" tab in your account settings and select "Remove from family."

    6. If you are not part of any family groups and are still unable to change your privacy settings, you may need to be part of a family group and let the Organizer manage your Privacy and Online settings on your profile.

Let me know if this help you with your concern.

Also may I ask further details about that being victim of RCE?

I hope this will help you. We look forward for your response.
