Unable to access Xbox 360 account/gamertag

I cannot remember the email address I used for a different gamertag/account (not this account) and therefore can no longer access the account when I try to sign in. The old account was made a long time ago. It is annoying that I have had to make a new account
and have lost access to DLC etc. All of the troubleshooting suggestions from Xbox don't help since they rely on already having access to the account.

Is there any other way of finding out which email address is linked to my gamertag/account?

No, don't do it!!!

I tried to do exactly this 5 months ago with my old gamertag, and it completely borked my XBL account. My account ended up not being able to 'purchase' anything from the xbl store (including free stuff, games with gold freebies & demos), unable to log in on any other device/system/webpage except the xbox itself, and unable to redeem codes or manage payment options so I couldn't even renew my gold sub, when it ran out last month.

All this has been going on for 5 months and MS can't seem to fix it. I would find it easier to take (the fact that they can't/won't fix it that is) if it was only me it was happening to, but there are a lot of people who have had the same problem, there's even a 49 page thread about it on the support forums Unable to download items, view account details or access website. - 03 - Managing my Xbox Live Account on Xbox 360 - Xbox 360 Support - Xbox.com Forums - Xbox.com and MS just seem to be unable to work out how to fix it.

Some of the guys on there's accounts have been bust since July last year. I've ended up creating a new account, just so I can actually use my XB1.

sorry to hear it. what you'll need to do is call phone support. so long as you can answer some account specific questions they can give you the email for the account

Thanks for the reply, but active gamertag is displayed for 'Silver' Account and also silver account can access multiplayer.

Although, when the user switches from Silver account to Gold account, user is unable to access Multiplayer.

Is this an Issue?

actually there is a way, but it requires Access to a 360 and a 2nd Microsoft account without gamertag

following like this

- sign in your current gamertag on xbox 360

- navigate to Settings->account->account security->change gamertag

you can then enter your 2nd Microsoft account there, this way you can Keep your email account and delete your 2nd account

Can he access the campaign or is he unable to access the game at all? What you might try is to set up another gamertag, and see if that one has access. I also wonder if your sons account is set to a child account. Destiny is a M rated game, and he might
not have access to playing it because he has a child account. If you try setting up another gamertag, make certain that it is not a child account.
